Playing with spare parts... Volks/Obitsu hybrid

Skintone mismatch is more noticeable in person than in hte photos... Volks Normal and Obitsu white are pretty far off from each other.

But... Floating head + floating body = a full doll. So now I have this girl wandering around:

I sewed the dress out of some clothing scraps!

Err, well... the body she's on is the 25cm Obitsu that will be grown-up Clover's body. The head has no identity attached to it at the moment but will probably end up as being Aelia/Nerisa when I get around to rebodying her... (Ackkkk, that reminds me, I have 2-3 dolls I need to rebody so I can finish shooting the Circle of Redemption photostories... :O )

I also am completely in love with that dress. :) Hah, I was pondering why the knee joints looked different! I don't own a 25cm Obitsu (they fall into "older teen girl" category for me as far as anime customs go and well, my female list is a whopping 1 female custom, and I'm having a devil of a time with her damn wig.). I love the eyes on the head!! :) I wish Volks would re-issue the darn 1/6 line. I think they'd sell a hell of a lot more than they're probably projecting in their minds. I'd buy, oh, a million blank heads of all the different types.

Yeah, the 25cm has a wonky knee joint... the wrist pegs break easily too. Definitely not my favorite body. (I generally prefer the Obitsu 27cm hard bust female for my girls.)

The eyes I used are actually from a Liv doll. (I have a bunch of Liv eyes that have been liberated from their original heads... )

Lamia Of The Dark Haha, those are liberated Liv doll eyes!??! What a smart idea!! :D Talk about an awesome way to get 1/6 scale eyeballs on the cheap. XD

You know, I thought I would prefer the 27cm hard body if I ever bought a 27cm female, but a situation came up where I'm making a character custom that just...well, the SBH L bust just worked best for the character, despite the fact that I wasn't fond of the loss of hip articulation as I was ordering her, but when she came in the mail, I fell in love with the body, so much so that I'd consider vinyl on all but the most flatchested or younger character modifications I do in the future. ;)
