Greetings from Michigan!

Postby bitterdarjeeling » Tue Mar 18, 2014 7:55 am

Hi there! My name's Jessica and I am an illustration major living in the Metro Detroit area. I've had a deep-seated love for ball-jointed dolls since middle school, but never got involved until this year when I got my first doll for Christmas! (Even then I was deliberating whether to get him or not, but I'm so glad I did <3) I'm still waiting for his wig to arrive, and making clothes has been slow since college has been keeping me pretty occupied, but I still think he's just wonderful. Once the semester ends and summer rolls around, I might try my hand at doing a faceup.

I'm sure we can all help you find a name for him. :)

My doll is a Doll Family-A Shawna who I have named Anneke. And, since I ordered her during the DF event, I am getting a little 1/12 white fox, but I'm probably going to sell him.

Welcome! I love ResinSoul Mai. I have two of the fantasy-eared version, Jun. I adore their little smiles. I have some links to some name lists, if you like. :)

My favorite is Unique Baby Names. If you want a completely made up name, there is of course the Rinkworks Name Generator, and then some fun somewhat stereotypical goth names.

Welcome!

And just to add another name list site, the one I usually use is Behind The Name

ETA: OkamiKodomo - I love the Goth names one - in particular, I like some of the explanations (such as Absinthe and Avalon, for example)

Absinthe If you don't know what this is, you might want to find another subculture to subscribe to. It's an alcoholic beverage made with wormwood (artimisia absinthium), a plant known for its mild hallucinigenic properties. It was very popular among 19th and early 20th century artists.

Avalon the otherworldly place where King Arthur went after he died. Also a model of mini-van.
Remember, the reverse of stressed is desserts.
Growing older is mandatory. Growing up is optional.
