Richilla: Nerdgasm!

I got a Susie Sad Eyes for $1 Friday at a flea market. She looks like Wendy Torrance from The Shining. I'm going to try to make her some outfits from the movie.
I'm mostly on Tumblr now.

<----richila, I think my Elrond action figure's ass is itching to sit in that thing. Great purchase!!

Also, Gift_In_Edge, if you do that, you'll totally have to share pictures!! That sounds just creepy amazing!

Oh dear... Finally bit on the "high-end" Star Wars collectible figures range...

After years of pondering over Sideshow's subpar sculpts and paint apps I found a cheap Obi Wan Clonobi for sale - and despite the dated style I really do dig that figure... Such an awesome design. I went for Clonobi rather than EpII Kenobi - for several reasons 1) paint apps closer to Hot Toys in style on the Clonobi than the EpII 2) Clonobi head fits on Hot Toys style necks - brilliant! 3) Clonobi figure design is just spectacular - a Jedi in Clone armour! Fangasm!

Sadly he's the general release, not the exclusive so no Hologram Rex for me!

So yep he's in the post - but I'm gonna kitbash him to a True Type, and give him the equipment/undersuit from the more recent Clone Commander releases that are more up to scratch with Hot Toys in terms of quality...

And mebbe attempt to repaint/commision a repaint of his face - there's an excellent sculpt underneath that paint! But damn I want him to fit in with my Hot Toys guys and not look like a freaky manequin - gonna get rid of the doll dot eyes at the very least...

I still regret not dropping the cash on Cody when I had the chance, his resale prices are ridiculous nowadays. But he had a subpar facial sculpt for the time (I'd just purchased Iron Man MkIV and the Stark headsculpt is damn near perfection) and Cody's aged badly quite frankly.

But I might have just preordered Phase II Captain Rex to go with Clonobi... Sideshow seem to have upped their game - if the v.tempting Commander Wolffe is anything to go by (wow that is a Hot Toys quality headsculpt right there). If I had the cash right now I'd be tempted, but I'm gonna be strict with myself Clonobi and Rex should be enough to represent the Star Wars line ...right?

...The Clone rabbit hole is deep and I do not want to end up owning the entire damn Star Wars range by the end of the year... And getting Clonobi up to scratch is going to be a difficult/expensive project anyway... Um...

<------Okay, that is one awesome looking figure Vetinari!! Congrats on your purchase! There is a gorgeous sculpt lurking beneath that sub-standard paint job, I cannot wait to see what you do with him! Some dry shading and detail work and...huzzah! He's going to look stunning!

Collecting, such a slippery slope isn't it?

Bah, my latest buys are all boring. Just got some Testors Model Master flat white in the mail five minutes ago. Took over two weeks to get here WTF. Even more WTF worthy is how I managed to forget to buy a full size bottle of this crap. I swear.

Also waiting on some Rit tan dye...going to try and dye a figma as part of a custom. Yes, I may be a little insane. I figure if I screw it up the damn thing needs repainted to a darker skin tone to fit my custom anyway so WHAT THE HELL I'm just going to try it! It can't hurt the damn thing...much. :?

Also: Doujinshi, magically found like $300+ of hard-to-find doujinshi that someone must have dumped en-masse from their collection and naturally I'm all "I WANT" but I need to get that figure down to something like $150 so it means passing on a hell of a lot of doujin I want really bad to get ones I want even worse and/or are more rare and less likely to show up again on the open market. I've been waiting over five years for some of these babies to magically show up online and woulda ya know, they do, ALL. AT. ONCE.

I think I need to start a thread "What can't you buy?"

Hm, my latest buy... Well, I'm paying the money back to my 'rents on an installment plan because it was in a sale and I couldn't afford the price atm, but sale price was too good to pass up and, well, you all know how this goes. But yes, I commissioned an outfit for cosplay. That's... pretty much my latest buy. Really looking forward to it.

Oh, and Mother's Day gifts. It's this Sunday (for people in the UK anyway)

A Doll in Mind Bellosse head and a Magical Angel body. A thank you to all who helped with that decision! :D

I think this turning into a problem...I keep ordering BJDs lol...since Last December I've ordered 4. They are my first three dolls ever, one has arrived (my Makie Sybil) but the other three haven't even shipped yet and now I'm going to order another one!! I love layaway plans btw.

Haha well no matter that I have three yet to come, I'm totally getting a doll from a new Russian(?) company call Argonautica. Well maybe I should say The Doll from Argonautica since she(?) sells only one full doll so far. It's called Prias and is an super cool Alien sculpt!! In either male, female, or unisex body. I'm a sucker for unusual dolls, I wish there were more weird ones out there.

Check out here:

http://argodoll.com/index.html

I just can't decide what color between purple, mint, and white. Purple and mint are definitely classic Alien colors, but white is a pretty much a blank canvas and I could go as crazy as I want on its faceup. On the other hand, all the other dolls I ordered are some shade of pale...Agh! Decisions! What do you guys think? I'd like to throw out that other then a name my dolls won't have much of a bio. It's just not something I'm good at. I'm into dolls for their looks and level of customization. I'm a shallow, shallow person...
