My husband has been ignoring his health problems and now has to have surgery to remove his gall bladder. This is really bad timing, as we live in a tiny country town with no public transport, and I can't drive until I've had the knee surgery I'm waiting for.

Also, the phone company made an error and took $553 out of our bank account for a bill that was only $53, and they're taking weeks to pay us back. In the meantime, we're overdrawn and penniless. As my husband's job is casual, he's not getting paid while he's sick.

Ever feel like laying on the floor and having a toddler tantrum?

I'm sorry sweetie! I think we've all felt like indulging (or privately do indulge) in those infantile tantrum feelings now and again. Your situation sounds tantrum worthy. It sounds like it's worth a few of them! Between major health issues and an incredible $500 overdraft (I think that may possibly take the cake for amounts I've heard of overdrawn), you're definitely entitled to a real good screamer of a tantrum. No one here is going to look sideways at you for it. A few might join you! ;)

Ack! I would go temper tantrum on the floor of the phone company's main office til they give you your money back!

Hope it's all resolved soon for you.

arg arg arg. I had all these lovely, healthy seedlings in my greenhouse, all perfectly fine yesterday morning, ALL DEAD TODAY. it was pretty chilly this morning, but I thought being in the greenhouse would protect them! and the worse thing is that 2/3rds of them were for making a garden at work. grrrrr....

Is something telling you not to have a greenhouse his year? Could be a sign.

Thanks kenaiqueen and MeltedCaramel, my husband's mother has stepped in to help, so that's the transport issue solved at least. The phone company will be hearing my wrath again tomorrow, as will the bank, as our account is supposed to reject direct debit charges if there are insufficient funds.

knittnkitten, your gardening attempts sound like mine! I just can't seem to grow anything successfully except cacti and succulents in this dry Western Australian heat. Cacti and succulents are nice, but you can't eat them!

I'm glad something at least has gotten solved! Still...the bank and the phone company need a good ass whoopin', especially if you have something in place where the account is supposed to reject in the case of insufficient funds. Sheesh! I hope this all gets worked out! And soon!
