Thanks guys I've been very lucky to get these sculpts! Hah - yea I think I do tend to go for sculpts with larger noses!

Hrmm I'd thought the Doll Chateau bodies were a bit too faery like/not human. But thinking about it - dayum you really do have a point about Bowie's Thin White Duke era and his emaciated look. Thanks! I think I'll give them another look in/more consideration.

Got to confess immediately after posting that photo I went at the Obitsu head with a craft knife - the eyeholes are neat/even - but I'm having a hell of a time working out how to sand down the inside of the head to make eyewells, I'm nervous of attempting to bevel it out with the dremel in case I go too far since it's so soft and the vinyl is such a "catchy" material that it might even tear. But I don't really have any other appropriate tool.

I think I'm going to have to wait until pollen season is over and pray that the weather holds up until then before face-upping these guys. My hay-fever is really playing up when I'm in the London area where I am (weirdly despite there being More Grass in the places I visited this week - my hayfever is actually worse (read painful) in London; it's how I imagine tear gas/pepper spray feels So I am Not Going Outside unless I absolutely have to)

Could it be tree pollen? I think lime trees (which seem to popular in a some of London streets) are just coming into their pollen season now - where I used to work there were loads of them and my eyes would burn badly if I went down those streets at lunch.

Oh noes... You may well be right... Argh - I hope it isn't but what you've said makes horrible sense... I've only ever had issues with grass pollen before - but argh yea it makes sense that it could be the trees around here...

Okay, Cain/Sam is awesome. In fact, all of them are awesome. I really like how expressive each sculpt is, and how they clearly already show a lot of character in their expressions and molds.

Also: you poor thing, with the hayfever. Personally, I've found that spearmint chewing gum can help a bit, clearing the sinuses and all of that.

Also, also: STOP MAKING ME WANT TO MAKE DOLL VERSIONS OF MY FAVOURITE DISCWORLD CHARACTERS. I don't even know WHERE I'd start to make a Susan...

Thanks! I do love the Cain sculpt, he's so unique - and (IMO) perfect for Sam. I mean, ye gods! He shares the scar!

Oh mwahahahaha! Susan!?! Do it! Do it! With Lobsang! You could even have a doll of Death himself! (though Death of Rats would be more difficult...) A Susan doll would be fantastic - we could have a little Discworld clique of dolls running amok on here! I'd personally love to put together the collected cast of The Watch, but Detritus and Cheery would be difficult to find bases for. (Oh lol my long-lived love of Discworld is evident in my old D&T projects from school, I recently found my woodwork/design project from when I was ~13/14 - It's Moist Von Lipwig getting repeatedly hung on one of those little camshaft mechanisms. Suffice it to say my teacher for that class thought I was ...odd)

Aw thanks for the sympathy! It's not horrific, it's just worse than it has been for a couple of years (I'd naively hoped I was getting over it but apparently not)

I finally made it over here. Thank you so much for trading with me for Sam I'm so glad that you love him. I can't wait to see him with a face up and on his body. I just made the site go live and would love pictures to post in the gallery on there whenever you get him in the works. I ordered Cass's wig and it's on the way and I got his eyes. He's very smiley you know. I think he likes it here... I hope he does. He gets pats every day and I have picked out some bronze fittings for his legs. I wanted to post a picture so you could see that he was alright and thank you so much again.



I want to wait for his wig before I change his faceup, but you can see his eyes. thank you so much for him. He makes me so happy and I'm so glad that Sam finally came home to you. The eyes can be the hardest part to find! I can't wait to see more of all your new little ones

Aw thanks! And many many thanks for the swap! I'm so grateful/happy to have Sam/Cain here - I'll be sure to update as soon as I feel up to braving the pollen long enough for sealing to happen! (Dammit on the rare days it isn't polleny as hell it's pissing it down...) I can picture the face-up I want Sam/Cain to have so clearly - I just really hope it actually comes out that way... I think I'll practice scars on my guinea-pig head before I attempt Sam's - it's an old scar, but an angry one.

I can definitely see what you mean about Cass being smiley! It's like he's a totally different doll already, and you've not even changed his face-up yet! I really can't wait to see how he turns out once you've done your planned mods on him. I never managed to get him looking so expressive - I'm really glad he came to you! He's finally getting the appreciation he deserves.

(Ugh tell me about it! I'm contemplating (you guessed it) a set of eyecos that look like a midway between hazel and grey at the moment, but the colour seems a bit ...soft)

I have had to make so many sets of eyes because I haven't been happy with them at all. If all else fails I'll make you a set and those will be perfect because I'm a psycho, LOL. I think Cass's eyes are actually the last set I'm buying. I like my own eyes better so.... it's hard for me to invest in something that may not look like the pictures.

so don't settle. Get a set of eyes that are both colors.




I couldn't decide and that is what happened, LOL. Azriel wanted blue and I wanted golden brown. Vail needed wolf's eyes with a forest center... could not find them anywhere -_-
