I gave in and bought two fashion dolls today (and an action figure). I blame all of you! ;) The girls are new Disney Fairies that were on sale (30% off) at Toys R Us. I was hoping to pick up the Winx Bloom with scooter since it's on clearance, but I guess my local store is out of them. The guy I bought at a thrift store and I figured, hey, the girls need a muscle man to round out their trio. XD

I'll have photos and a review up in the few days.

Which Disney Faeries did you get? I was thinking of getting the Pirate one for the outfit, but after looking at the outfits online, I wasn't all that impressed with how it looked. I only wanted the outfit for one of my Obitsu girls.

I got the pirate version of Periwinkle and the party version of Rosetta.

I was planning on making them myself, but thanks for the tip anyway. ;)
Actually, I found them at the thrift-store so his pants may actually be floating around in the shop still; I'll look again next week just in case.

...Um just picked up a set of about seven of the VNA books, featuring the 7th Doctor, Ace and Benny. ...Yah my Doctor Who book collection, previously mostly EDAs, NSAs and the odd TELOS novella is expanding... Bernice is probably the first "modern" Doctor Who companion - the bridge between the "Classic" series style companion and NuWho... Moffat owes an awful lot of "his" plots to the EDAs and VNAs - Lawrence Miles in particular...

But - much as these novels were cheap (99p each!) and are in reasonable condition (given that they're nearly 20 year old paperbacks) the previous owner was definitely a smoker... As in I opened the parcel and a cloud of noxiousness emerged. I don't tend to notice smells too much - but these books really stink.

Is the method for removing smells from books the same as the doll one? Any suggestions?

Try an air tight bag or container with a powdered detergent you like. I did it with cardboard DVD cases that smelled. One the smell is better let them air out.

Thanks! I'll give that a shot - any improvement will be great. You can currently smell them from about half a metre away - they're being kept well away from anything else at the moment...

So, this is embarrassing. I was going to pick up a few little odds and ends at Junkyspot and Paypal declined me. I'm all curious and as it turns out I've spent so much at IKEA that I maxed out my card. Oopsies. I've never actually maxed out a card before, especially before it was even due. I upped my credit limit. Seriously, I've got doll stuff to buy. Someone's getting chibi-fied. Dun dun dun...

Oh, so much. To clarify: I am currently on the journey home from my holiday; in which I was allowed to indulge myself a little. Please also note that some of the things listed below were gifts from family members we visited while here. As such... the list is as follows

    2014 Disney Store Merida
Disney Store Merida Bow and Arrow Set
    Funko Pop Vinyl Merida
    Funko Pop Vinyl Edward Scissorhands
Dumpling Doll Pippa (review to come on my blog when I get home) (GIFT)
Paddington Bear (design based on the 1973 animation) (GIFT)
    Child Simba Bullyland Figure
    Tinkerbell Bullyland Figure
Disney at Harrods Mickey Mouse as Sherlock Holmes (GIFT)
Squirrel from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Musical
Charm Bracelet from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Musical (GIFT)
Souvenir Brochure from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Musical (GIFT)
    Avenger Cats t-shirt (GIFT)
    Perspective of Alice t-shirt
... Yeah, I'm on a spending ban on myself for a bit. I'm allowed to buy presents for the upcoming birthdays, but for myself, it's a big no. Lol. I did have a lovely holiday though, so I've nothing to complain about.

Removing smells from books - I have worked in libraries, this works but takes weeks. Get dryer sheers Bounce or another strong smelling brand. Place four to six sheets in the book, between random pages. Put in an airtight bag and leave for a month or more. The book will now smell or Bounce. You can try unscented sheets too.
