Tailored Cloak

They're too sexy for their clothing - but they have to wear them anyway! Did you buy it? Did you make it? Who cares - let'm strut their stuff here!

Tailored Cloak

I've had this project in mind for a few months. Finally got around to it.
This is the second version. Just a few more changes and I'll be happy with it.

The welts ended up at slightly different heights.
I don't have the right shade of blue to do the buttonholes tonight, so the buttons are all pinned in place.
Except for the buttons on the ends of the welts; they're stitched down. So, of course, now I want them on the other end of the welts.
And, speaking of welts, the welts have already been moved once farther to the side seam, but I think I want them even farther from the center of the cloak.
I used white for the arm slits (giant bound buttonholes). Should have used some blue instead. Oh well. That's why I make these trial garments.
The lining I chose was salvaged from a skirt I made many years ago. The lining is some horrible slippery polyester crepe that stretches out of shape as soon as you touch it. Not using it again.

Wow, this is beautiful. I love that shade of blue and the detailing is superb. Nicely done!

Lovely look, I like the tailoring. I agree that the welts could be further from center - perhaps model on a smaller doll.

Thanks, everyone! Feedback from another forum has encouraged me to try the welts a bit lower and angled the other way! We'll see how that goes.

The capes I had like that one had the welts almost up and down. Looks really good, you do wonderful work!
