Travel kit.

i've been wanting to make a bag of what could be considered doll essentials to have in my Big Case for when i travel to the city for meets. being more than an hour away from my workbench leaves me at a disadvantage if something were to go awry. so i figured it could be fun to toss it up on here with everyone else and come up with the Ultimate Travel Guide for Doll Emergencies.

EDIT: breaking it up into categories, so we can have a super ultimate list!

basics:

- People Stuff (camera, money, hand sanitizer, etc)
- Magic Eraser.
- Toothbrush, clips, elastics for wigs.
- Restringing kit (hooks, elastics, wire, forceps or other tools)
- Spare eye putty
- Superglue (for emergency fixes)
- Doll stands or folding chairs.

for photoshoots:
- Fabric for backdrops
- Boxes to place under fabric for tiered seating.
- Small props for dolls to hold.

for craft meets:
- Brushes
- Paints/ chalks/ etc
- Sealer
- Safety equipment (respirators or etc)
- Gloves.
- Sandpaper.
- Epoxy.
- Spare eyelashes (and glue)
- Magnets
- Small Sewing Kit (thread, needles, scissors)
- Extra Elastic.
- Hotglue sticks+ mini glue gun/ lighter

How about extra eye putty? For those moments when they don't stay positioned like you want and such.

Depending on what you want to do at the meet (these suggestions work if you want to take pics).

Fabric, maybe a yard or so, for a backdrop in doll photos. More fabric or multiple colors if you want to have a ground piece and a backdrop. This can be used to wrap up and cushion the other tools in your kit. You need more fabric for larger dolls, of course.

Small containers or boxes - they can hold the items in the kit, and can be placed under the fabric to create levels or places for your dolls to sit when being photographed. This is a better suggestion for 1/6 dolls and tinies, but if your kit is in a shoebox sized plastic container, the container itself could be used for this purpose with larger dolls (your 1/3 can pose with one foot up on it, for instance).

Props - a few fake flowers, a small gem maybe, a chair or pillow. Some small items that you can pose your dolls with.

Superglue for magnet fails, and whatever glue you use for eyelashes? (And spare eyelashes and maybe magnets)

For craft meets, appropriate safety equipment is a must! So a respirator for spraying sealent or a dust mask if sanding resin. Maybe even gloves if you use a lot of pastels in faceups or body blushing. That can help prevent smudging by preventing the oils of your hands from getting onto the doll.

Well it does depend on how long you'll be at the meet and where it's being held. If it's at the house or apartment of a fellow collector, that's very different to if it's a outdoors meet. My usual is a modified version of the basics: Magic Eraser, doll brush, camera, a bit of cash if other people are bringing items to sell and lastly, some folding doll chairs.
