Ooooo, fascinating. One wonders why the imp did not mention this before.

No promised graveyard, as I found passable shootingsite closer to home (and less populated area, so I could take photos without audience).

"The Sinister Seremony"

All Hallow’s Eve had come, and with it had fallen Felwood’s first snow of the season. Istyros – with help of his apprentice Grundis – had earlier captured Chandira to be sacrifice for opening ancient portal and freeing imprisoned monster behind it.

Image
Istyros and Grundis had brought Chandira to the Night Elven ruins, stripped her and tied her down.

Image
"Master, have you seen Voch anywhere?" the dwarf asked, as her and the satyr were finished with preparations for the oncoming ritual.

"No. You should keep the imp on tighter leash", Istyros answered. "And you yourself should concentrate on making the Sacrifice", he snapped.

Image
"I’ll start the opening chant, and your part comes when runes on the stone wall begin to glow", he explained. "When it happens, you’ll cut her so her blood will flow, and offer the sacrifice."

Grundis nodded. “Yes, Master.”

Image
Chandira struggled against her ties. “Please, no!” she cried. “Please! Let me go!”

Image
Neither of warlocks paid any attention to her pleas or struggles.

Image
Istyros turned towards the wall, and began tuneless humming.

Image
Chandira looked with fear, as Grundis took bronze blade, and raised it. Dwarf’s eyes were locked on her Master and the stone behind him.

Image
"This blood we will offer-" she started suddenly.

Image
"-to you for revive and nourish-" she continued, and drove the blade down. Chandira closed her eyes, but instead of pain, she just heard surprised gasp and metal clattering against stone.

Image
Chandira opened her eyes, and she, Grundis and Istyros all turned to look who would disturb the ritual. And not that far were two familiar figures.

Image
"I take satyr, you save Chandira". Winterleaf commanded, leaping forward.

Image
"Shalunia!" Chandira wailed with relief.

Image
"Grundis, pick up the blade!", Istyros commanded, turning back towards the opening portal. "Finish the offering!"

Image
Grundis obeyed, reaching down to get her hands on the knife again.

Image
"No!" Shalunia yelled. She dropped her bow, and charged forward.

Image
Shalunia rammed into the dwarf, and toppled both of them to ground.

Image
At the same time, Winterleaf had reached Istyros, and the males circled each other.

Image
"I know you, Soulstealer", druid greeted.

Image
"All will know me soon!", satyr sneered, trying to keep distance from approaching elf.

Image
On the ground, Grundis was loosing her fight. “Master, help!” she yelled.

"Kill the sentinel", Istyros barked in reply.

Image
"Shala!" Chandira cried, but couldn’t do anything, as Grundis freed burst of Fel-magic on elf.

…and it’s a cliffhanger. I have second part of this photographed, but not edited, so. Maybe in next week.

I really like the way you photographed the action scene here. The dramatic poses are just like a comic book. Well done! And I'm really excited to see next week's installment.

Trethowan, thanks! I have been fearing, that my posing isn't that interesting - but it seems that's not the case.

I worry about the same thing. I think it's natural to worry about such things. Your characters are interesting and I like how you're developing the story. It has great pacing and of course, the costumes are top notch.
