Completely Creeptastic

Postby Trethowan » Thu Jan 29, 2015 6:48 am

I'm going to comment on the complete creeptasticness of a doll I came across. If you like it, then don't be offended. Actually, I kind of like it too, because as a piece of art it was able to grip my attention and cause a reaction of complete revulsion, fascination, and curiosity. That's a success, Doll Chateau. Honestly, this thing creeped me out. It creeped me out in a way that I imagine all the rest of my dolls do my sister. I think it's the combination of jutting ribs and exposed chest, the folds under the eyes and overall proportions, and of course that horrible mouth that cause me to think it's something that's crawled out of Hell to say hello. Hahaha... it puts the hell in hello. har de har.

One of my friends own a scared Chucky doll...
I do wonder if the maker of this doll got ideas from a piranha since thats what her eyes and of course mouth looks like to me. Or Abe Sapien-ish. Her design fascinates me in the Xenomorph sense but I'm not likely to own one.
Gotta love the interesting stuff DC comes up with.

Yes I'm not as afraid of dolls from the creepy side than when I first got back into this hobby. I'm more afraid of reborn/baby dolls though.

And then I click the link and saw the rest of her body. Gimme back my mental image of piranha girl dang it!

Dolly's face looks like someone tried to put out a forrest fire with a screw driver. The upturned eyebrows on the angry fish face don't help it. You're either an angry or sad dolly, unless you're tired from chasing your prey after they got away.

I've never been creeped out by dolls but I'll have to look twice at ultra realistic mannequins and robots to see if it has a Ki. I'm more bothered by the glazed over expressionless faces or eyes looking in two different directions.

I am the odd one, and I love Irma. She's not beautiful in a standard sense, but she does the trick for me. Though I am not surprised at all, as I think that spiders and many other things that many people think "gross" are beautiful, too.

Anyway, I'll think I'll buy her as I can think character she'd fit into.

I'd definitely want to buy this one. It's creepy as hell, but I think she'd make a fantastic creature for Foster's world. I would like to populate photostories in his realm with lots of fantastic creatures. That said, I'd have to put this one in a box at night. And nail the lid shut. HA.

The paint job in the mouth is grossing me out, but otherwise I think she's really unique and creative!

That's the mouth of a creature that gnaws on the flesh of the living...

The toothy mouth I can understand their design, but the bleeding thorns, I don't get it if she's a deertuar. Unless nasty deertuars get thorny.

I notice they like deertuars
