It probably would. But I don't like using synthetic threads like nylon or PE (long health/environment-related story). So far I have used organic cotton thread, and it works pretty well. I am currently making a new doll using ahimsa silk thread, because silk is stronger than cotton. I haven't made the hands and feet yet though, so we'll see how it goes... Just be sure, whatever thread you use, to pull really tight when doing the fingers - but not so tight that it curls them. Tension is tricky, but so very important

I'll look into silk thread then. I am so totally impressed and inspired by your work. I can't wait to see how she progresses.

Aww, thank you so much! I'm glad you like it I will be posting more pics of her soon - I had to change my dress design, my original idea didn't work out the way I wanted. But I think she'll still be really cute. It just backed my work up a few days...
