Leather-like Fabric Help?

Postby TieflingBoy » Mon Nov 15, 2010 10:53 pm

Does anyone know of a good leather-like fabric to use for doll clothes? I have some vinyl, but it doesn't drape very well at a 1/6 scale (it's a faux-snakeskin style). I like the feel of the PVC Vinyl from Distinctive Fabrics, but it's very. . . shiny. (That wouldn't normally bother me, but I'm trying to make a gift for a friend who may take it the wrong way. She tends to read into things way too much).

I would go with faux-suede instead of faux-leather. Search for "micro-suede". None of the implications that come with "shiny leather."

Or, find a pair of old women's leather gloves and cut them up.
All you damn kids get offa my lawn!

Be careful what colors you use. I have some things in black that stain doll fingers and other soft parts.
