Please do. If it's real it's 1877-1883 "natural form" or it's a very old copy. All I'd want is the price of shipping.

It's a wonderful example of everyday wear, Dollykim. Those don't tend to survive. I'm pretty sure that is what would have been called in the catalogs of the time a "day dress," meant to be worn at home and worked in. I'd think that, if a local historical society doesn't want it, surely one or more of the studio costumers would.

DollyKim, I have someone interested in using the outfit for research. She's on FB, so what is the best way for her to contact you?

Several in the costumer group are all aflutter about it - the theme of the con next year is Age of Legends (steampunk).

PM sent

The bodice especially is just some gears away from Steampunk. It would be neat to see someone copy it.

The DH has yet another staph infection in his knee replacement so I am back to part-time nurse duty again. So he bought me a new doll to say thanks. (Okay, it wasn't his idea, but he paid for her.) I got the new Disney Parks Ariel and she's a beauty. The box isn't as nice as the LE's and she doesn't have the applied eyelashes that came with DParks Auroras, but the dress is lovely. Also in the photo is another new Disney redhead, Fancy Nancy. She just a playline but I thought she had a cute face. Also in the pic are my 5Mini Brands. I have some for trade I'll list in the exchanges when I can catch my breath.

I am thinking about de-boxing Ariel and doing some embellishments on her dress along with adding some eyelashes. Am thinking over what I'd like to do to fancy up her dress. I'm torn between pastel pearls or crystals.

SO this one arrived today:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/273865480522

Costume as cheesy as it looks. Wings are actually not bad, stiff stuff with sequins, and I'll totally be reusing them. Headpiece is cute and clever.

This is a doll with a VINYL head and removable headcap as I'd hoped, which means removeable eyes. Head on a peg. Not the same mold as either of the other two I'd gotten. Body is hard vinyl, legs and arms are ABS plastic. Faceup is very good, no need at all to remove, and comes with eyelashes. Good value for the money, great substitute for an Obitsu or Dolfie Dream if you're looking for that anime look, but sadly will not match Obitsu coloring so no running out and putting a Gretel head on the body without some serious color work going on.

I just have one more to come in that allegedly has a removable headcap for my report. The more anime-looking one of the two girls I already got is being remade into a Herald Talia doll for a charity auction--either Patrick Rothfuss's auctions, or DragonCon, depending on if I finish her before D-con or not.

I don't know if I will make it this year (we can't leave my mom by herself anymore), but If it's done in time for D*C Jeff might be able to run over and bid for me.

And I love the pale white/pink skin tone.

And the last of my ABS/PVC experiments has arrived.

This is without a doubt the best bang for your buck. $58!!! Solid ABS body, vinyl head. No faceup, no wig. Head removes, and has headcap. Head attaches with S-hook and little insert piece to keep the S-hook from going through the vinyl. Color old Dollzone white. No waist joint, but if you have an old DZ white head sitting around you want a cheap body for, this is the bomb. Poses easily and holds the pose. The head sculpt is very nice, and should faceup well.

This is going to become my mannequin doll for displaying outfits I've sewn (and intend to sell).

Had me worried when the box arrived because it was MSD size. Turns out they packed her with her head off and her legs folded. Try doing THAT with a resin and you'll end up with broken limbs.
