I finished my first faceups! (Technically NSFW, I guess.)

Barbie, Jenny, Fashion Royalty, Obitsu and 1/6 resins - basically anything 10-12inch/21-27cm or in the neighborhood.

The soft parts of my Obitsu 60 are the ones that haven't stained, lol. If the clothes are dye set you should be okay. The only thing that didn't come out was adhesive for an old wig.

As for all the rest of the Obitsu I've only lost 1 hand to mysterious contact with ball point pen ink.

Hmmmm. *looks down at Wendy doll, who is currently wearing a dress stolen from an antique Cissy type*

Tam I am wrote:LOL My main Obitsu doll of the family likes strong colours, but I've managed to get her through around ten years of life with only a few light temporary stains from a dollar store dress.

But I hear you on the concerns. The 25 cm Obitsu elf and the elderly 60cm girl haven't anything decent to wear yet because I'm afraid of them staining.

I read somewhere that lining clothing with white fabric or putting them in an undersuit can help with this, because it puts a barrier between them and the colored fabric.

I've heard that too. It only complicates the matter of getting anything put together.

That is true . . . My sewing skills are currently novice at best. I tried to make an outfit for Reini and it somehow made hwr look pregnant . . . I didn't take into account how much extra fabric was bunched at her waist . . .

I CAN sew. And crochet. But not, it seems, for big dolls, or skinny ones. And fabric is nuts to find around here anymore. And my wrist just hates sewing anymore...

Would making them body suits out of tights that match their skin color help? Thin stretchy fabric easy to find in the sock section of stores.

My adventures in doll dewing is what lead me to making a pattern drafting book. Have you checked out PBS shows like Fit 2 Stitch that show you how to deal with adjusting patterns for fit issues?

It might, but I've also never learnt to comfortably sew stretch.

And I don't have TV, so I haven't checked those.

Speaking of fit, has anyone noticed that dressing Fresh dolls can nearly be like dressing the Obitsus with the really larger busts? Like, not Reini size chests, but the larger ones.
