Darker PoC skintones

Postby Den » Tue Dec 10, 2019 7:47 pm

Is there any company that makes darker skintones in 1/6th scale? Reason I ask is because every single Lady of Color I have is more on the lighter side, and I like seeing a variety of skintones in my doll family. The "White" girls all range from about as pale as me to tanned, but aside from my Snap Squad hybrid doll, my only Ladies of Color are lighter shades, and even my SnapSquad hybrid is only what I'd consider a light medium. I'd love to find some darker shades, and any tips on finding commercially available ones would be appreciated. Otherwise, I'm gonna end up going the RIT Dyemore route for one of the customs I wanna make, and I'd rather only do that as a last resort.

I've got a really dark barbie I somehow forgot to send you. She's got purple hair. Needs new makeup though. What she's got on makes her look like she's a suntan freak white lady.

I tried linking one of my adopted click pets here, but the board wouldn't let me. :/

That might be the doll I have for her. Though I know there are others as well, including at least one curvy lady.

The rainbow dress fashionista is dark with black hair and Amazon still has her. The one I saw in the wild has lavender hair.

I've seen a couple of darker Fashionistas at Walmart, and you can still nab most of the older ones online. As for if you're looking for articulated dolls or guys, I don't know . . .

if all else fails, I do have a general idea of how to convert a low-articulation doll (IE Barbie) into a more articulated version. Just a matter of getting the right sized drill bit and a good saw...

When all else fails, break out the hardware.

You can also dye some doll's bodies to the color you want.
