This year's main project somehow combines Phantom of the Opera and Cats. (my resident cat people are replacing words with meows and nyans in songs from both production...). Both production will be here 6 months apart (yays!)

In terms of cats, its an extension of what cat people are already doing - they want paw gloves by the end of the year when production comes to my shores.

And if I can somehow get Helen a grey-black outfit combo to make her look like the mackerel tabby she really is instead of pretending to be a tuxedo cat for convenience sake. Her black and white outfit makes her very elegant, while the mackeral tabby look might end up giving her a rock star persona ....
I also would have to see which Helen (Obi 50 or 1/3) can manage to get mackerel tabby look going...

So much thanks to everybody here for making me curious enough to watch Wicked (dolls go to magic school and develops a feud over shoes and sings about it), Phantom of the Opera (there better be something Vocaloid before cat people hijack this) and Cats

Oh and an Alice in Wonderland project thats a side project because of the above. Gotta love Cat people.

Phantom isn't just Andrew Lloyd Webber. Check out the version of The Phantom of The Opera with Charles Dance as the Phantom. There are several versions of the Lon Chaney film with subtle differences. And don't forget to check out Phantom of the Paradise.

That I'm still saving up for a PC. Since my cellphone can't log in Dollieh Sanctuary. I'm really afraid that Volks would release a Fate based doll, I'm safe from Gudako and Mash where Babylonia anime release is concern but I'm afraid of the destruction that Camelot will cause in Novenmber. (Insert much Monty Python references)

So I have to make sure I have doll funds as well before getting said PC. Other than that my dolls are split between Fate cosplay(Child Gilgamesh and both male and female Master in Anniversary Blonde outfit so far) and being Cats. I'm trying to see if a confused fox character who thinks she's a cat will show up and muddy the waters further.

Plus - to finish the last two kimono before March next year

Camelot is not out yet and my heart got stolen by a flamboyant swashbuckler. Okay essentially Iplehouse Luna has return to the company line up, this time as a smaller FID(45.5cm). And yes this is a mini version of Big!Helen

Yes Helen, I would have to save up for this.

Right, so I found a BJD that perfectly fits my mental image for a mouse doll that has always been a back burning idea for years. I've always had a thing for little anthro dolls, I think it's just seeing how it all translates across. Not the point. It would be this little one here. Ideally I would get in yellow resin with the face-up and blushing done. But yes, that would be my Jeemy.

Why Jeemy, you ask? Well, it's Scottish - Jamie or James, really. It's heavily inspired by popular Scottish comic strip Oor Wullie, as the title character has a pet mouse called Jeemy. I grew up with this comic - quite a few by that publisher actually - and the name has always stuck in my head. I never found the right item for it to belong to, and then one random search and... Well, I found my Jeemy perfectly.

So. I think - I hope - I might be able to order him this upcoming week. Can't check my account till Monday at the earliest, but I've got some pennies set to the side from trading in some DVDs, and some book trade in. Hooping to do it this week because the site is having a free EMS shipping promotion for orders over a certain price and this little guy plus paint puts me over that price. Turn around is 2-3 months so... May at the latest? That's not too bad really. Could be a lot longer. Gives me enough time to put money to the side to deal with the inevitable customs fee, at any rate.

I'm thinking that - as an homage to the source of his name - he will need to have a pair of black dunagrees, so that means my black fabric will need a couple of spins through the washing machine to make sure they're colour fast. Won't be able to sew them properly till he's here and I can make a pattern based on his actual sizing and not just online measurements - done that before and it ended up not fitting right.

Oh! For those a bit more curious on the comic strip, you'd might like to know there's been a musical! Here is the trailer, and here is a performance of one of the songs. Yes, I have seen it. It's very fun, and I think it's a right shame it's probably not likely to be staged again following this tour. Ah, well.

Yep, I'm necroing this thread, it's a good thread, it should not be dead.

I love my new Cave Club Roaralai, and I like collecting my dollies in twos. So clearly, Roaralai needs a companion from the Cave Club line. But who? I gave my sister an Emberly for Christmas, so I'm not including her. That leaves Slate, Tella, and Fernessa. All three interest me, but I'm trying to not go overboard here.

Tella: blue color scheme, sees the future in snippets, really cute, could share fabric with Roaralai.

Slate: Token male, but an artist! In the show, he's used as Roaralai's love interest for one episode.

Fernessa: Pink and green color scheme, plant themed accessories, definitely pretty... Would need new fabric.

Hmm, Tella's looking like an obvious choice, because I wouldn't need to buy new fabric. I appreciate that Slate's an artist, but I just don't have as much fun making boy clothes. Fernessa's so pretty though. I'm still torn.

I keep having to stop myself from spending insane amounts of money on doll clothes and doll stuff. I'm saving up $3000-$4000 for a storage shed to turn into a craft room.

Why not pay the same amount of money for an old Class C RV and have a sink, toilet, heat and air conditioning?

I paid waaaaay less than that for what turned out to be a vintage but in need of a good cleaning 30 foot trailer with a kitchen and bathroom. The parental unit recently got a build your own tin shed for $500. With paying the neighbor to assemble it, getting some pallets and simple flooring she still hasn't cracked $1000. Both were found on Craig's List.

But I definitely umpteen an RV or a trailer, as long as you're behind a fence so someone can't just hook it up and drive off with it. Look up toy hauler trailers, lots of empty space. There's always box trailers and horse trailers too.
