Janie changes a light bulb... without changing in to her coveralls:

Image
"Hey! Watch where you're pointing that camera!
None of that kinky anime-style 'fan service' stuff!"

Image
"Success...with the light bulb! Sorry, loser, no fan service for you!"

Mind the Gap: Janie & Trivia attempt to remedy a misaligned door.

.

Image
Won't open, won't close, won't catch, won't latch -- won't do!

.

Image
Triv removes door trim and old shims.

.

Image
Janie takes measurements to identify the problem and formulate a solution.

.

Image
Ooh, new tool! Janie tries her hand with a Dremel rotary tool
to carve notches for door latch hardware.

.

Image
The results are not up to Janie's perfectionist standards, but it'll do for now.

.

Image
Well... it's better than it was. The door opens, closes, and latches now.
Replace the trim pieces and call it done.

Smart Doll Crew:

.

Image
First "formal group portrait" of my Smart Doll Crew

.

Image
Triv (Smart Doll Symphony) is the first Smart Doll I purchased back in
mid-2018, but her shipping carton remained unopened until her first friend
arrived a few months later. Yes... months later!

.

Image
Janie (Smart Doll Harmony) is the second Smart Doll I purchased but the first
Smart Doll I opened, so both Janie and Triv can claim to be my
first Smart Doll.

.

Image
Nellz (Smart Doll Kanata) arrived a year later, in the late fall of 2019,
and quickly took on the role of Resident Mad Scientist.

.

Image
Addie (Smart Doll Mirai - Cocoa Variant) arrived within a few weeks of Nelly
near the end of 2019. Nelly was supposed to be my last Smart Doll
(one of each color, and three is more than enough), but somebody I was following
on Instagram tipped me off that "Mirai" in the "cocoa" color was being released
as a limited edition, and ermigahd she was so cuuuuuute! I happened
to have funds in my hobby budget at the time, so... yeah.
But y'know what? I've never regretted this frivolous impulse buy, because
ermigaaaahd she is sooo cuuuuute!

.

Image
gNat (Smart Doll Kanata - Smiling Variant) is the most recent arrival, joining
the crew in April 2022 as my only "pre-owned" or "re-homed" purchase. gNat was
never a part of the purchase plan, but a member of a... ermmm
doll forum which shall remain nameless because it's a dangerous place full of enablers
was lamenting having sold a Kanata variant on eBay to a buyer who backed out of
the purchase. Impulsively, I offered to
buy the doll for what it had sold for on eBay, thus netting the seller more
money and avoiding the hassle of re-listing the doll for sale online. I almost
immediately regretted my fiscal irresponsibility... until the doll arrived. Yeah,
gNat is pretty much the same doll as Nellz (as in, identical except for a barely
perceptible difference in facial expression), but now Nellz has a little sister
to kick around which is a relief to the rest of the gang, and she's totes adorbs,
so it worked out, and so far it appears that she is not haunted like Nelly is.

.

Okay, that's enough sycophantic fawning and über-squeeing. Now get back to work!
