There hasn't been an episode of Hoarders devoted to me yet, so I think I'm OK!

I think.... :?

I had no plans of buying any dolls this year, and then Soom Rosette came out with their "normal" size doll bodies so I panicked thinking they had discontinued their unique and fantastic noodle bodies and HAD to put up a WTB thread for a Wings of Tomorrow Violet. After I went through a very lengthy process to secure an order for one (since they are limited and their order period is long past) I realized I just spent about six hundred bucks on a doll that I hadnt planned on! I wasn't exactly feeling dolly regret, since I would have regretted it more if i hadnt worked out a way to get her but I definitely felt a very sharp sting of: Oh! That was a lot of money...

It's actually the first time I have felt that way after a dolly purchase. I was so concerned that I went and returned $200 wortg of clothes and shoes I had just bought (first time buying clothes for myself in maybe four years?) So that I could fill that hole in my bank account a little bit.

I look at my collection now and all I see are their sweet faces, fantastic custom costumes, and beautiful artists faceups. I am terrified that when violet arrives all I'll see is dollar signs!

So now I have this strange, new feeling that seven dolls is enough for me! And it might just be one too many!
At Home: Abernathy (VW Odette); Deathbunnie (Soom Cuprit); Lunarflare (Soom Cuprit MD); Onyxia (Soom Heliot girl); Salandria (RS Mei); Tinker Bell (Luts Ani); Zorro (CD Wong)
Waiting: Zoe Bell (WoT Violet)

That's a good question. I'm rapidly approaching it with my 1/6's. I resisted them for so long, but now they are taking over. They are so inexpensive compared to the 1/3's that it's easy to justify each individual purchase. Especially as the many thrift stores in my area are chock full of various 1/6 dollies. I'm seriously out of room though, and cash! I only have five cents in my dolly wallet for the next 2 weeks :o

I have to save up for vacation so my mom put a no-more dolls until after. I'm going to save up for a couple of tinies though. (Hujoo and Obitsu.)

Well, there are still places for me and my husband to sit, so obviously I dont' have too many... Truthfully? I am very happy, but I do have a great many of them. I can never decide how to count my dolls! I've been actively collecting since I was four, and I still have most of them. I did reduce the Tonner horde once I discovered 1/3 Obitsu, and I find that I can get rid of many of the Barbie horde too. However I don't ever see myself not getting more dolls. I still play with all the big ones, and the Obitsu's. The husband let's me have whoever I want, as long as I can make the money myself. Mochiko, the most recent, was a bit of a stretch, but I have wanted her since 2008 and when her owner had to let her go I just had to have her!

Lols I definitely have been cutting back on my doll spending because simply, I'm bored again. The fashionistas are a kind of crappy body now and I don't really like Liv bodies that much to drop the cash.

But yeah, the Flea markets are really drying up and I already live in an area where dolls were not zomg awesome so it's been difficult. So yeah, I'm kinda going back into a "Blah, the doll market is crap again, shun!" stage... The only dolls I'd really like to have nowadays is the Barbie Basic Steffie with blonde hair and a Gloom Beach Frankie...

It seems Monster High dolls are arriving in your neck of the woods this April. Better save up your dolly money!

I remembered reading a newspaper article about how an evil toyline was coming out in April here that was evil for teaching girls how to shave and shiz...

But woo! I'm excited :D (This is the opposite of the thread you know, Delbelcoure)

I'm kind of the opposite situation. I have a hard time spending money on dollies, so I don't have any expensive ones at all. I just have 3 1/6 scale (2 Volks, 1 Obitsu), and ideas for others. The fancier, more expensive dolls seem really pretty to me, and I'll go nuts over one for a few hours or 2 weeks, then I'll forget about it. Though my friend has 30 1/3 expensive dolls, and I don't believe I'm missing out on much. I really have fun with the ones I have.
