The place for those OT discussions that you just HAVE to share in a doll themed forum.

It's pondering what my dolls' purpose in life is time, especially all the "extra" ones just for my website.

Still waiting to hear if our offer has been accepted on the pony house, making one tomorrow on a let's just add another room here and another room there place that reminds us of the first place we rented out here 20 years ago. One of those funky places that needs funky people. The dolls and I would practically have out own apartment, I would just need to add a nice bright art room but there's a great place for one.

Given the weird things I search for I have probably given the Google search pre-filters a nervous breakdown. "What does she WANT??????? I don't understand!!!!!"

See Google pre-filters your searches based on your past searches, which can hide what you are really looking for.

"As web companies strive to tailor their services (including news and search results) to our personal tastes, there's a dangerous unintended consequence: We get trapped in a "filter bubble" and don't get exposed to information that could challenge or broaden our worldview."

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8ofWFx525s&feature=player_embedded

But I search so eclectically, I get way more "stuff" because my filters are so confused.
All you damn kids get offa my lawn!

Safe search? Who the heck uses that?! :p
A hobby isn't supposed to leave you wistful, regretful and vaguely disappointed. BJD collecting is as customizable as the dolls themselves. Do whatever pleases you the most, because otherwise, why do it at all? All for the 'Gram Bitches love the 'Gram.

I always have safe-search on high at work. I have it set to moderate at home. Most of the time.

In other news, my experiments with rooting hair have been successful! My Gabby's bald spots in the back of her head are all gone, so it looks nice when she has pigtails now. I'm actually really enjoying it. :) Which is good because I've planned to root 2 heads completely... (Rooting means stabbing hair into doll heads.)

Got to turn a gripe in to something good. The clothes on the Box O' Disney Princesses are for crap, shredding and not sewn well. So somewhere between it all I need to mug other princesses of their default outfits or make replacements. On the good side my box was half price and I wanted the girls more than the clothes, but the spare outfits I spent some good money on are just as cheap :(

So if anyone has fabric suggestions for redressing them I'm open, just cant get sewing until after the move, but it's never to early for ideas.

Drat. The problem with being gone for a year is now I have no idea where I stashed my odds and ends.
My extra-hands stash especially is eluding me right now, I thought I had left them in the mini-garbage can (so it would look like a very bizarre crime-scene to the unsuspecting doll)... but it turns out one of my Tae-Yangs dumped his clothes, a pair of handcuffs, and a bunch of over-sized plastic diamonds in it when he decided to impersonate Nurse Joy. (...don't ask.)

So now I have absolutely NO idea where all those tiny hands have gotten to. :T

Not necessarily a fabric suggestion. Have you considered cutting them apart to make patterns?

Pattern making is no problem for me, I wrote a book on drafting. It's just matching the colors and fabrics to remake them, or parts of them like Snow's sleeves, the red parts are just glued on. It's one of those projects that deserves to be done right when it's done.
