According to my cousin, my cat has ticks. She said that she found them.

Me: Where?
Cousin: I just found it.
Me: I mean, WHERE?!
Cousin: Told you. I just found it.
Me: I MEAN, WHERE?! LIKE THE LOCATION IN THE HOUSE?!
Cousin: I found it.
Me: *facepalm*

Does anyone here have experience selling vintage dolls? My grandmom is moving and asked me to help sell off a good chunk of her collection. And its... kinda huge. She has antique china heads and composition dolls, 40s and 50s vinyl dolls, Barbies and other fashion dolls (these and the vintage vinyls are the bulk of the collection), some cloth dolls either bought or made by her, and even some gimmicky 70s and 80s dolls like growing hair Chrissy and some CPKs and even a pair of mint in box Blythes.
Now I've looked around here and there and can't find any forums for vintage/antique dolls, and info on selling seems to be a mixed thing (Ebay? Etsy? A pro doll dealer? Craigslist?) Has anyone here ever helped sell off a collection like this and has some advice?

I'd go with ebay. If it is that big a collection and you don't feel you have the time to deal with it, I would take it to a pro ebay seller. They take a cut, but it could be worth the hassle. I have no sense from your description if this is a collection with anything worth anything in it, or if it's going to be mostly "donation fodder."

It's official. Dolliehs have taken over. I spent an hour straightening my AG dolls hair (my poor Emily was the worst. Poor thing's hair was so matted it was a shocker I was able to get it unmatted.), Found Haruka-chan a pair of shoes, braided Ghoulia's hair, found Riven's shoes and gave Holly a new dress and now I'm waiting on finding Spectra has put a BBB or RS doll (I don't care which one) on my Xmas list for this year and added a couple of Moxie Teenz to my list too. (They really have nice faces...I'd just need to find out how to remove the eyes and find some creepy looking green eyes for my OC and a dark red wig for it.)

Well we already have the research on the dolls themselves mostly done, and have a basic idea of how much each is worth. We're not quite pressed for time yet, and my gram isn't worried about squeezing every penny out of the sales. If it weren't for her having to move, the entire collection would have been my inheritance, so she wants me to be as involved in it as possible.
While she does have a few dozen of the Franklin Mint/Ashton Drake/'collectible' dolls, they are definitely a minority (I did say it was a HUGE collection) and will probably be sold in lots. Most of her collection is in very good condition, many have their original clothes and boxes still.
I guess my question is more, where do we sell them, where do we advertise them? If it were a smaller collection I'd do it entirely on Ebay, but with our estimated value on this they'll have taken at least several hundred in fees when all is done.

If there's a way of having a photo album somewhere that we could see them people here might be interested. I already have a Blythe but never know if she wants a friend and the idea of a gimmick doll has me curious.

Otherwise are their auction houses that specialize in toys? Check some doll magazines and see if theres places that do a lot of dolls and toys.
