It certainly was I was felt as far as Canada. I was just so super excited because I'm an aspiring seismologist so it was real exciting to experience an earthquake.

Annnnd....

I need to put together some minions for my current 1/6 scale project (see HERE). I'm just not in the mood to get out all the GI Joe COBRA figures I've collected and start head-swapping, since the nearly- 10 year old PVC heads are getting hard to work with now. I was checking out the Victory Force (a manufacturer of 28mm war gaming figures) website earlier and found these guys- LINK, a "Wehrwolf" squad. Sorry the photo's so small but I think I might even have the stuff on hand to put together a group of these in 1/6 scale. Is it cool or do I need to keep looking for inspiration?

The rest of the line, with somewhat closer pictures, is here- LINK. And here's a closer photo of one of the squad members- LINK

Ohhhh I don't know about thatl..... I've been through five major quakes. If you are in a safe building or area... they can be fun! Except yeah... not everyone is in a safe building....

A conversation between myself and a co-worker who was standing 20 feet away from me yesterday:
me: "Do you feel that?"
Joe: "Feel what?"
"It's moving"
"What's moving?"
"Everything, the whole building. I think it's an earthquake."
"I don't feel anything. I think you're imagining things."

I was validated about 30 seconds later when someone came running out of the offices yelling "Did you feel that earthquake????" Joe still didn't believe there had been an earthquake until his girlfriend called him about it a couple of minutes later. Perhaps he thought a bunch of us had a mass hallucination.

What was strange was that there were 5 people in the dock area and I was the only one who noticed it. Apparently I work with a bunch of very oblivious people. Everyone in the offices noticed it though.

earthquakes don't bother me at all. I've been in big ones and as long as you remember up off the floor in mobile homes and under something everywhere else you should be a~okay it's the tornadoes that I worry about. I feel like they are personally out to get me and I've narrowly managed to escape every time. When my mom was pregnant with me she was picked up and thrown into one of those huges stacks of cans they use to display. You know those can pyramid things? I was born prematurely a few hours later. I've lived in multiple homes that were destroyed all when I was younger. Even on my 11th birthday our house was demolished. I always seem to be just stepped out or somehow in a safe spot. Just two months ago my brother and sister in law lost their apartment. Theirs and only theirs was ripped out of the building. My friend that lived two houses down was crushed and killed, her front entrance collapsed on her as she tried to run from her home to a storage building built into the side of a hill. Its just gotten to the point where I want to live underground.

Never knew that about mobile homes, we're moving in to one soon.

If you bed is away from anything that will fall on you it's a safe enough place to be. Out here we learn to duck under a table and hold on. The biggest fear in my part of town is liquifaction but I think it's all the layers of paint holding this house together.

I've been out of town for every major earthquake we've ever gotten. The first one we had when I was alive (I was in kindergarten...), I was in Hawaii, and the second...I was in Hawaii. We really don't go to Hawaii that often! I wonder where I'll be for the next one?

In mobile homes the steel pier system they have is the worst danger. Some of the newer ones have moved on to a slightly safer concrete system but in the old ones metal floor spikes will sometimes come up through the floor in an earthquake so it's much safer to be on a desk or table and just protect your head. They come up through the floors and can spear you if you are underneath anything.

The worst earthquake I was in was in the middle of the night I was on the top bunk of a bunk bed and was thrown from it with the shaking. I hit the floor fully awake and managed to catch the top bunk before it fell on my little sister. talk about a rude awakening

Well, it looks like cash and karmic niceness are going to battle over that extra hot toy due me this fall (watch her never arrive now :P) I could have sold it six times this morning if I had it already. It got me to thinking I don't really feel anything about the dolls. I don't get a 'shopping high' and no real buyer's remorse outside of the paid too much face palm, but I'll have a bit of a freak at 2am if I suddenly feel I 'need' something, and I never feel 'finished' with something.

I hope there's answers to be found without having to dissect the dolls and their reasons for being, I would like to know why I feel the need to have so many, I just don't care why I have to have a certain doll/character in particular.

Same...I don't know why I'm starting to save up to buy a Spectra when I need to put that money away for Rizabelle.
