The cleaning and overhaul of my front bedroom drags on. Eventually, I hope to have it set up as a display area and hobby workspace but it still feels a long way from that at the moment. One interesting aspect is that I've been able to furnish it almost entirely with repurposed items. So far I've gotten two steel baker's rack type shelves and two nice (if a bit "frou-frou") wood shelves for a grand total of $40 from a store that's relocating. On Friday, I plan to go back over there in search of a desk or work table of some kind (it helps to have an inside track with the management ).

I just hope all the stuff that was stored in there can fit back in some kind of neat, orderly fashion!

I've actually heard that's very similar! Truthfully, I'd love to try them someday. Hey, there are many cultures that do eat them, so they can't be that bad...

I'd like to see a betta take on a bug as big as itself! Those silly little fish have definite attitude problems. I remember one of mine used to get a hold of my finger and I would pull him out of the water, all the time with him having a malicious and murderous look in his little beady fish eyes.

Some day I will have a betta again. I'm thinking that once my immortal goldfish do kick the bucket that I'll pop one in the big tank with a few peaceful bottom dwellers. Supposedly if you give them enough room you can have other fish in the tank.

I had a betta named Stardust that used to pick fights with the My Little Ponies near his tank on my desk. I think he just didn't like anything prettier than him nearby. He was a pretty one though, purple with red tips, I even got him a purple tank and gravel with red plants to match. My mom had a gorgeous red one with extra long fins that she kept in a tank on the kitchen counter. He lived for a good three or four years, and actually got prettier and brighter in color as it went because the tank had a full heat/light/filter system and special food.
