I feel that way about beer. It doesn't matter what kind I taste, I just don't like it :P

To update, the big furniture is being moved today, we had to get stable hands to help as we have such wonderful friends. Unless it's a refrigerator it apparently can fit in to the back of a Chrysler mini van. Hooray for us little red hens.

I will be adding a stable to my website, Breyers, MLPs, something called Fashion Fillies... and will be open to questions and comments about things I haven't covered yet. This is planned to be a really really big overhaul and I'll be water marking/tagging most if not all of my images to try and nip bad hot linking in the bud.

TT.TT apparently Saber Alter 2nd ver will be 59000 yen..which is like 760 dollars or something.....It's pretty affordable compared to the original Saber or Saber Lily but....depending on when the DollPa/preorder is, I'll see if I have any money left for anything there. And Saber Extra is going to be there but she's even more expensive..nope (but again, still more affordable than the aforementioned sky high dolls) Maybe the fact that they're probably reusing the original saber sculpt helps..?

My husband tells me I just haven't met the right kind of whiskey lol But I love beer, vodka, and rum... so I really think I'm covered in the alcohol area :P

I'm not opening up the topic again, but I have to comment on it because it really just made me laugh, nice little mini forum battle back in the 1/6 scale section. lol I leave for a mini vacation and my internet corners have mini explosions. Like, my Tumblr dashboard (other blogs I follow) erupted with activity on something I will not repeat here as it's kinda... iffy. But yeah, haha.

ANYWAY, oh internet.

I ran into my Japanese professor as I was leaving a doll meet. I'm torn between being mortified and thinking it's hilarious. I am sort of curious about if he'll say anything in class on Wednesday...

I think it's a developed taste. I go through phases even now where I like certain whiskeys and other times where the thought of drinking it doesn't appeal to me at all. And I'm sorry to say that, in spite of being a native son of Tennessee, I've really gone off regular black label Jack. I like Bulliet Bourbon and most of the single malt scotches I've tried, although on those rare occasions I buy a bottle of scotch, it's usually just the 12 year old Glenlivet.

Wow, reading this made me go dig out my bottle of Bulliet and have a small glass for the first time in months! Cat, I'm blaming you for enabling me! :P

On a slightly related note, there's also the research I did for my blog Claire's Big World. Being a worldly woman of adventure, I figure Claire enjoys well made, classic cocktails. A running gag in the blog is her effort to make martinis while in the distant "sticks" where her employer, Team Wyvern, is based. She is especially fond of the Vesper, a drink invented for Ian Fleming's James Bond novel, Casino Royale.

The problem is that one of the main ingredients, Lillet Blanc, is not really easy to find where I live. Fortunately, my favorite liquor store could special order it and also, it turns out that it's pretty good drink. All the recipe versions "Claire" mentions on her blog were actually tested by me. I arrived at a slightly altered version that uses half vodka and half gin, as well as a full measure of Lillet and a small shot of orange bitters. I still need to find a better orange bitters than the non-alcoholic brand I have. Another thing is that this drink is effin' STRONG... it's around five ounces of booze as I made it and even with normal 80 proof (40%) vodka but using the recommended high alcohol gin (regular Tanqueray, which is 47% alcohol) it will kick your ass! The thought that she can regularly knock back two of these and still function is pretty hilarious.

By the same token, her preference for both vodka and gin martinis with a 3 to 1 ratio of spirit to vermouth (always Noilly Prat) and are shaken was arrived at with much experimentation. The olives (either garlic or bleu cheese stuffed) must be Mezzetta, since my wife and I tried several brands before we settle on one we liked best.

Bottom line is that all the drink recipes on Claire's Big World were tested by me with a bit of help from my wife (who isn't normally a martini fan) and will actually work. And after several months of detoxing, I feel almost back to my old self again! Seriously, I barely drank any alcohol for several months after I got the drink recipes "dialed in".

Completely unrelated to alchol, apparently volks is coming out with a ddh06 head. From what I've seen from the pics of the volks magazine, it kinda looks like a cross of head 02 and 04. I like it but...where did number 5 go?

I'm not up on all the Saber versions but the 59000yen price is about right. I think the others were in that neighborhood when they originally came out, nothing like the 120000+ that's being asked for now on the secondary market.
