What title and year is the Nancy Drew? All of mine came from thrift stores. I have versions published form the 1910's to the 70's. In one book she's driving some blue car popular in the 50's and the next it's a Model-T Ford. It was kind of weird and interesting to read them that way.

It's a 1933 Nancy Drew and the Mystery of Lilac Inn. Here's the first batch I'm investigating http://dolfielittles.typepad.com/blog/2 ... -pile.html anything with a link to Archive.org I won't need to scan. It'll get better as I need to rid myself of things from the full set of Sailor Moon to a 2 foot tall stack of Little Golden Books and friends, but the Sambo is mine...

And I'm still missing 4 or so of the Sesame Street Library.

Hmmm...1933...Great Depression, alcohol in legalized, cannabis is outlawed, Franklin D. Roosevelt becomes president, Adolf Hitler becomes dictator, and Gandhi is protesting mistreatment of the lower castes.

My copy wasn't that old. I notice in the piture you posted the seam of her hose down the back of the woman's right leg.

I remember that one. I found a stash of book at my grandma's house when I was younger, ones that had belonged to my mother. I then read all the rest that my local library had. I remember that title.

DK, I will bet money that homeless shelters that take in families would kill for those kids' books.

I agree! With any luck, they will come pick them up. I'm so grateful that I had 2 people at the estate sale picking up clothing for mission work. They took about half the clothes I had!

It's a mess, pack rat grandma kept most of these in "storage" for so long they're literally falling apart now. I can't even remember if I got to read most of them. We lived with her when I was around 5 and my aunt not long after and that's the last I remember of a lot of neat books and toys.

I hope to get through the Little Golden, wonder, and similar sized books first. In all honesty they're off to Ebay. Some feel too fragile to let kids handle them, spines are breaking and papers are crumbling and they smell great, but if there's a specific title you're wanting feel free to PM me. Anything I can do to break the family's hoarding habit. We have a wall of boxes outside of our kitchen door that aren't mine, except for a lost one with a toy bus in it.

*And the scanner got borked in the move. It's groaning and stretching things. Good thing is it was quite a few years old.

lol just girls... I feel like I should be offended at that! XD I'm a girl, and I read the Hardy Boys. I actually kinda hated the Nancy Drew books. But then again, I also caught snakes, frogs, lizards and turtles, and my barbies would be martial artists and soldiers and fight alongside or against my brother's GI Joes.

If you find any, let me know. :)
