Ok, so stuffed animals aren't exactly dolls - most of us have them and some of us make them so why not?

For the first project of my painting class this semester I made part of the canvas be a canvas art doll that I then gessoed and painted.

Here's the first couple parts of the doll.

Pictures of the colored version coming later, although I was rushed and not very happy with the end product. Kind of wished I had left her black and white.

She reminds me of an ancient fertility figure.
Can't wait to see the colors--but she looks nice like she is, too.
