Making a robe gown

So, to fund Blade's new body and a body for floating head Luc, I'm repurposing the 27cm Slim Male into a whole new doll to sell. I'm going with a tarot theme. I was going to do the Page of Swords at first, but then I decided I wanted to put wings on the doll (to y'know, show off my wings) and my husband said that it would then make more sense for it to be a major arcana card. Temperance was the best choice so noooooooowww I need to figure out I to make a robe gown like in the picture here:

Any patterns you guys can point me towards that matches up to what I'm trying to make? Also, do you recommend a specific fabric for this? I want it to be fairly high quality (without breaking bank on me) so my usual routine of "use a bandana" probably wont be a good idea.

Pillowcase from walmart! You can get a pack of 2 for...$4 I think? lol actually, you could probably get 1/2 a yard of a lightweight "costume" fabric from Jo-Ann's for $2 or there-abouts. Especially this time of year. And be sure to google search for a 50% off coupon. XD Seriously...subscribe to their email list. I get more coupons than I know what to do with.

I'll check these out. I'm making a "dark version" of the original white card. Just how it work out... somehow. The black fabric I have is too heavy so I need to find something black that's fairly light and workable- as in doesn't fray like a jerk. lol

I'll nab some coupons off the internet (I really should join JoAnn's network) and convince husband to go out with me soon. ould like to have him done in time for Halloween. lol It probably wont happen.

Oh... the costume fabric I recommended frays like crazy... I usually run a line of fray-check along the edges once I've cut my pattern pieces, and that fixes the problem. The rough edge gets trimmed off when I reduce my seams anyway.

Hmm would fabric glue work just as well? Just like, a small thin coating?

I haven't tried it... I would think it would be too thick. Dritz fray-check is very thin, almost watery. It's about the viscosity of my Liquitex gloss medium. It actually soaks into the fabric.

I'm gonna have to get some of that. I have some white satin and it frays like a b****! lol
