How dusty is your house? Are you close to a highway? He could be allergic to cleaning products. You can try kicking him out and cleaning with vinegar, lemon juice, baking soda and other natural products. Get a vacuum for pet owners too. Ours has a thing that wipes pet hair off clothes and upholstery then the vacuum sucks it clean.

Huh. We've never had any problems but our model wasn't mentioned there so maybe we got lucky. My Dad is very allergic to anything with fur/dander but with the help of the purifier he can tolerate our cat(and dog when she was still with us). And I personally notice a huge difference with pollen(my main allergy problem) when we have it running. But none of us have asthma so maybe we're just not noticably affected by a higher ozone level.

Clean the house is obvious (he's allergic to the cat too but usually it's only bad if he touches the cat and then his face).

Don't forget molds and the like... people can be allergic to those as well.

It's a major investment, but a Rainbow vacuum is a godsend for allergy sufferers. They're the ones with the water tank instead of a vacuum bag. Newest model is about $1400 but you can get older models, reconditioned (like our D4SE) for $700-$800 dollars. They're *amazing*. Virtually no dust escapes the water tank, and in the series E models the out-port has a HEPA filter so that even less escapes. Vacuumcenter.com has a good sampling, but you might be able to find better. (Yes, you have to empty the water tank more frequently than you might wish-but you will be amazed at what it picks up!

If you have a forced air heating system, the best/cheapest thing you can do is replace your furnace filter with a permanent electrostatic air filter. The filter fibers are manufactured to have a static charge (like those pesky socks right out of the dryer) that attracts airborne contaminants. They do not create ozone (O3), an acknowledged respiratory irritant. They are more expensive than regular furnace filters but trap up to 10X more particles (dust, dirt, molds, whatever you have floating in the air) and you can wash them out in the yard with a hose (or in the tub) so they'll last for decades. Depending on the size and efficiency, they'll run around $40 to $80 and are well worth the investment.

Ah... let's see, it's a Monday in early Autumn so that can only mean that it's time for my kinda-annual batch of red beans and rice. I did a taste test and they turned out pretty good, even if I did make 'em. Not sure when we'll actually get to eat them since it looks like the missus is putting in another 10 to 12 hour day but at least they keep really well!

And yeah, I did some laundry too, just to add to the authenticity.

(For those who aren't sure what I'm talking about, red beans and rice is a New Orleans dish traditionally served on Mondays since, legend has it, Monday was laundry day. Usually, there would be ham left over from Sunday dinner, which is an important ingredient in many versions of the dish, The idea was that you could use what was on hand- since you hadn't been able to "make groceries" in a couple days- to make a meal and let it simmer all day while attending to other household tasks like laundry.)

I'll look into that K2 as that sounds interesting. Problem with our furnace is that it's behind a wall and it's no easy feet to access it *eyeroll at bad building plans* Though, we plan to move out within the next year, so we might not buy them.... I don't know. We've passed up buying a number of things since we don't plan on staying here.

When he was tested he was told that he isn't allergic to mold *shrug* but he is allergic to weeds and pollen. It's been windy the past few days so I've had the vague thought that it might've blown something into the house. It boggled his mind too, since it was completely random. Today he was fine (though I did clean, BUT it wasn't very windy today) Also bathed the cat which helps.

Not having allergies doesn't help with my understanding of how to prevent. :/ Sure, I sneeze at some dust and mowing the lawn, but it doesn't act like his allergies do. He did finally order an air purifier, which should be here Wednsday (thank god). Any help I can get to let him breath easy inside the house I will happily pay for.

Pulled turkey BBQ. Shred the turkey and use it just like pulled pork.
Family size turkey pot pie will use just about everything except the stuffing and mashed taters.
Get eel sauce and make turkey sushi using turkey like the cooked eel (unagi).
Also, there is no law saying you can't freeze half of it and pull it out later. That's what we do.
All you damn kids get offa my lawn!
