Good souce for Licca (23cm) clothing?

Postby MidoriKurogami » Mon May 31, 2010 3:09 am

Hey everybody,

I have two Liccas in kimono and I'd like to give them something else to wear, but am having a really hard time finding anything that really fits that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Does anyone have any good suggestions or sources? My girls would appreciate it!

If you feel like making your own there are Licca pattern books. I'm parting with the printed out patterns from one that has a variety of outfits. Many issues of Dolly Dolly magazine will have Licca clothes too.

You can try patterns for vintage Skipper, they're about the same height but Licca has small boobs where Skipper is flat chested.

I THINK that Licca will fit in some Bratz clothing - though I'm not sure about the tops. I've got some Licca clothing, but it's all mixed in with my other 1/6 scale stuff at the moment >< She might fit in clothing made for Blythe - but again, I'm not sure as I don't own a Blythe myself.

As DK said, there are pattern books, but they are all out of print and even trying to buy them from Japan second-hand they cost a fortune. Dolly Dolly is a "mook" (cross between a magazine and a book) that comes out several times a year, but most of the issues will only have one or two Licca sized patterns in them - and at over $20 an issue I don't recommend them for just that.

I tend to hit my local thrift stores a lot and buy packs of doll clothes when I find them, generally there is something in them that will fit SOMEONE that I own LOL.

The right book can go a long way, such as one with enough different clothes for you to be able to fidge and make what ever you pretty much want, or something like Dolly Dolly #1 with basic drafting and altering lessons. DD and Dolly Bird are fun with the pictures they have, like wish books, some have furniture patterns or how to make trunks or accessories.

$30-$50 is about what you should expect to pay for most mooks, forget $100 books not worth it, and most have a decent resale value. I've picked up quite a few "used" in perfectly good shape. Don't judge most of the contents by the cover, which is why I've done my best to give reviews on my site of books I've seen.
