For Halloween, my sis and I dressed up as Rapunzel & Aurora (princess versions), respectively, and it was really fun!!!
We both didn't really expect to be recognized much, since I chose Aurora's purple gown version and she chose Rapunzel's princess gown and short brown hair, but ALL the little kids at the stores (We had our yearly Halloween fabric and materials shopping day---going to several WalMarts, the mall, Home Depot/Lowe's, JoAnn's and then finally out for dinner at Red Lobster.) knew my sister! It was great! Even from car windows, they'd scream out 'TANGLED!!!'
What was funny was that not one of them said 'Rapunzel.' Every time, it was 'Tangled.' :laughs: They were so cute!!!!
One mother came up to us and said that her little girl (about 4-5 yrs old) wanted to talk to us and meet us! (She thought we were really the princesses! I guess like at Disney World or something. :laughs: ) She was so sweet, but she didn't recognize me, as I asked 'Do you know who we are?' and she hesitated for me, but then looked at my sister and said 'Tangled!' (Tangled, again! :laughs: What happened to 'Rapunzel?!')
We were buying a digital camera, too, and the saleslady asked if she could take our photo to show her little girl that the Disney princesses came in and bought a camera from her! :laughs: It was so funny and really the first time so many little kids commented and knew us. (We usually dress up as anime characters.) So it was a new experience that way!
The one irritating thing was that our dresses had to be constantly held up with one hand, as we walked along, so we wouldn't trip since they were past floor length, AND I had to learn how to sit in a hoopskirt!!! :laughs: Our mother kept lamenting the fact that our trains were dragging in the aisles but I told her that it gave a good effect anyway and we'd wash the gowns, so don't worry about them.
But it was an awesome day, so much fun, talked to so many parents and children, and had endless shrimp to finish off the festivities! Yum!
Here are some photos of us in costume!
