OK, I missed this! Yep, dueling thistle balls does pretty much describe them... (snerk...)

I've had those haircuts, where you look in the mirror everyday and tell yourself:
"I look OK. Really...I look fine....it's not that bad.....it's fine....it'll grow out....."

God, me too.

The latest one is just now growing out.

DITTO!!

About six months ago, I had my chestnut brown (and gray) hair down to my hips. Yes, truly. It was almost long enough to sit on.
My NEIGHBOR doesn't like long hair and kept after me to cut it "It's scraggly" "It's unhygienic!" "You'd look better with it short" and so on and so on, on and on.

Finally, she made a great show of "picking a hair" off a table (ONE hair!!) and said "God that's DISGUSTING!" and I snapped! I stalked into the bathroom, grabbed a pair of shears and CUT IT ALL OFF! My hair was an INCH long all over my head! I walked ut into the room and said "Well! ... SATISFIED?!!" and she damn near fainted!

Well... did I regret it? Hell YES! It took me five to eight years to grow it that long! Still... I have to say the LOOK on her face WAS worth it....

My hair is now at neck length and still growing. Maybe I'll grow it long again just to tick her off.

My hair was long enough to sit on when I was in high school. I chopped it off before I moved to Florida, then grew it out, chopped it off, grew it out, then donated it to Locks of Love. I'm growing it out now, but I might donate it again. In between stages of growing, I put it in ponytails.... they were little nubs on the sides of my head. I'll take dueling thistle balls over "paintbrush stubs" any day.
