reducing brushmarks?

Postby knittnkitten » Fri Feb 17, 2012 9:32 pm

I'm starting on my first monster high faceup. I tried the colored pencil method and while I like the effect on lips and eyelashes, its not giving the white of the eyes the solidness I would like. but when I try to use acrylic, there's too many brushmarks.
anyway to reduce said brushmarks?

When I did my Winx doll, I pooled a drop of paint on the eye and let it dry. It took forever to dry, but there were no brush marks and the eye ended up with a slight curve like a real eye.

The secret is to thin the paint using either water or extender and then paint very thin layers. It takes time but will give you a smoother final result :)
