I've been hunting for the dvd set for YST (talk about unobtainable), I didn't get into it till college when it was playing on cartoon network. So I've always been more familiar with the dub version than the original (saddness), but I've really been wanting to watch it again. I blame finding my Cye/Shin action figure. XD

I'm only really used to the ENglish, myself, I just looked up the Japanese on youtube xD

I've seen the set on ebay from between $100-300 x_x Amazon = more ont he $300 side... but it's hard to say whats a rip or not, on Ebay... a possible recording of a recording of a recording and not the real thing, lol >_<

and roflmao - Looks like we were both enticed back to the dark side by Cye/Shin D: ....except I had no figures, so I guess walking through a dream with a Tacobell bag works  (Mmmm....tacos.... *will follow tacos anywhere... tacos and only tacos...*)

Excuse me while I herpaderp on YST for a few paragraphs :D x_x But I do have an awesome link for you

http://www.goodanime.net/category/ronin-warriors
I found a site that has the English version, of all it's episodes....minus the OAV episodes D: I can't find those.... (except on youtube, buit without subtitles.... only in Japanese or Italian....)
well, I did find one or two OAVs on ebay, but theres supposedly 3 different ones... (and I can only find two of them as sep DVDs =_= and both about $40+ on ebay) one where Ryo and Sage are sorta kidnapped to Africa or something by some dude in black inferno armor and Cye just... doesn't want to fight anymore, being the pacifist of them all... (but I couldn't tell what started that cause it just showed them fighting the kidnapper guy initially and when Cye looks at them, the other ronins are all creepy and faceless and sounding weirded D: but it was all in Japanese with no translation OTL So I guess he freaked out? ionno.... a bit after that, he falcon punched Rowan >_>;), I think the second one is Sage's armor going nutterbutters in NYC and killing people, so they all go there to find out whats going on... and I -think- the third one is with some lady who believes the armors are the cause of all suffering and tries to destroy them...
It's hard to say because it -looks- like there were two stories/plots per OAV DVD....

Honestly, the English voices sound a hundred times better, in my opinion =x even with the surfer dude voice of Ryo's... though I really don't like Rowan/Touma's english voice OTL "Heavy Brooklyn accent".... he sounds more like a male version of Nanny Fine from "The Nanny" (minus her laugh...) .... not Brooklynite...

The Japanese voices... Cye/Shin sounds like a girl (and he's supposed to be the oldest??) o_O So does Ryo.... Kento/Shu was "meh"....nothing great, nothing bad...but the English voice actor gave a better energy to the character. >_> Sage/Seiji was ok.... I don't really have anything to say about the Japanese VA... and Rowan/Touma's Japanese VA was good in comparison to the English... though there was one point I saw where he was doing a transformation sequence with Sage... and lol. Sage did his bit, then Touma... and his voice was so deep at random I nearly fell out of my chair in surprise, lol.

Dunno, but for once I just like the English better... x_x I say that very few times... one of the very few others being Cowboy Bebop, lol

Yessss, doooo eeeet!
Oh, and please post some before and after pics if and when you get the chance.

On a vaguely related note, I'm now hoping that a Japanese model company releases kits of the walking tanks from Sora no Woto. I watched it over the weekend and, being a "gear head", I was drawn to the tanks. The Roman tank is obviously closely modeled on the early WW2 American M3 Lee/ Grant medium tank (but with legs!), so it could probably be built from an existing kit. I'm not that ambitious however.

Oh, and how did I let myself get drawn in to yet another silly-ass moe anime series? :? Even though Sora no Woto isn't quite the sugar-induced coma that K-On is, it's still pretty lightweight in spite of some drama in later episodes.

Will do :D That is, if I remember to o_O; It apparently came today, but no one was here when the mailman came x_x (left one of those "I waz here" slips on the door).

YOU KENNA ESCAPES TEH MOOOEEEEEE!!

Try "Working!!" for more K-on like moe >:D

Crap, "Short Attention Span Theatre" rears its head again! Over at One Sixth Warriors, they've started a summer group bash and by popular vote, the theme chosen was near-future Post Apocalypse. When I first created the back story for my "doll world" back in 2006, it was supposed to be set in a recovering Post-Apoc/ Post collapse world where the characters all lived in one of two rival nation-states that had formed in North America. I eventually modified the setting because I found the Post-Apoc back story too depressing to work with, even though it was reasonably hopeful.

Now, this group project at OSW has me thinking of revisiting my original setting, which means at least temporarily abandoning the story ideas I was discussing here last week. Tangents? Yep!

NOOoooooo! Teh Mooo-eeeeh is so sickly sweet and cutsey. I must excapes it!

OK, OK, maybe after I check out "Working". (Thanks for the suggestion!) Of course, I'll probably wait until I've gotten through "Sky Girls". But I'm staying the heck away from "Strike Witches"! Too many fan-service fetishes in one place.

If you're being pulled in a certain direction by something let it pull you. I feel the action figure Doctors will get me back in to my other action figures including the Trekkers. Play Star Trek, want to watch Star Trek, get back in to the Star Trek stories I wrote, do something with them. Exorcize the demons associated with "the past" and you might just "get it". A good story is like an old friend that welcomes you every time.

I'm debating whether or not I should drop cash on some 1/3rd scale lab glassware for my resident scientist. On one hand, it's going to cost quite a lot to get the pieces I want because shipping to here from Israel isn't cheap. On the other hand, the lab glassware would make some freaking awesome props for photo shoots.

Unfortunately, I still can't find any in-scale test tubes. I regret not dragging Aurym over to the steampunk artist tables at Fanime to see if their small test tubes were in-scale to him. =/

My guesstimator might be off, but aren't the smaller of these just about perfect? The tiny lidded ones they use for lab samples would be about right, too, iirc.
