I do this by sewing the strands onto a wig cap.

I use toe toppers as wig caps for SD sized dolls.

One can also buy wig caps.

I cut strands twice as long as my desired length. Then I folds the strand in half and sew them on, one at a time. I do this on the doll so that the cap doesn't shrink up as I sew. It goes surprisingly quickly and I like being able to use a variety of fibers in a wig.

Looks great! I admire the work you must have put into that! I looked at the tutorial but I was bummed when I found out you need to know how to crochet :(

I was really blessed to have a mother who could knit, sew and crochet. She taught us to knit and crochet while we were young, but until recently I needed a pattern to make anything especially doilies.

Actually, I think if you can knit the wig cap, you may be able to attach the wool to make the wig.

You don't need to be able to knit or crochet to make a yarn wig. All you need is some felt to make a cap with, thread to sew it tight with, a needle with an eye big enough to put the yarn through to sew the yarn to the felt wig cap and lots of patience. It's actually a lot easier than making wigs out of wefts. I like to do it once in a while but I find the felt cap a lot easier than crocheting or knitting one. I like to use all those wild, fuzzy, mixed up designer yarns. I just sew it all on there then pull all the yarn strands apart to make it look more like hair. All these are really nice. Great work.
