The other 2nd-shift person at work just quit, so they called to try and get me to come in today...... I could tell the manager was upset when I said I couldn't work because I have to babysit tonight (my mother will be out so I have to watch the little one), but them's the breaks. What's she going to do, fire me? then she'll have NO ONE working second shift.

We were already short on help before that guy quit, and I understand the manager is frustrated over it...... but she should understand that just because she calls me on my day off doesn't mean I will automatically be available to work.

I've been meaning to get a job that's within walking distance of my house anyways... I should get back on the search for those.

Books in leaky place where the goats could climb on them, fighting with smother about saving what I can because she doesn't read. At least we didn't have the last copy of some things in the known universe. Can't do everything and tend to the puppies. Give me well wishes and mourn for the Dr Seuss and stuff like Duck Feet and 10 Apples Up On Top because I don't have time.

At least the puppies are happy, healthy, and love to be with people.
