I'd say do your hobby room done and anything that needs to go on to shelves first. That will make it easier to do all the other things.

You are SO right. This has been my plan for weeks now! BUT rearranging my room is a big project... So every time I have a little bit of hobby time, I choose to do a face-up or something... in a messy room.

You know what? Doing my room will be my project for today!! But it's 3.35pm and I'm still in my nightgown LOL. Wish me luck.

Good luck, Evelien. Even if you don't get the whole thing done, what you do get done will make you feel so much better.
My hobby room is either the kitchen (taking up the table) or the living room (taking up the couch), so there is a real incentive to clean up (can't eat or have more than one person sitting down). Combined with cat curiosity and playfulness, these two things are good spurs towards order of a limited kind.

Yeah, we were too lucky... we weren't even going after this many rooms so it was a supernice bonus... plus it's not expensive at all. I'm sorry..!

Wow, just realized it was a year ago we were heavy in to the eye twitching search for a house and I still don't feel settled but it feels like it's just around the corner. Please let it be just around the corner.

In the meantime, I've continued cleaning out my room after a short nap (spending 5 hours walking at VERY slow speed at flea markets was pretty exhausting) and I'm almost finished!! In fact, I think I may be ready this week to start building my 1/4 scale doll house!!!

Could do what I just did - and go "to hell with it!" Debt/selling off the random crud that means there is no room on any of my shelves are good incentives to finally have a clear out! (So much Lego! And Dr Who figures... And LOTR figures... And Anime figures... And just plain random stuff... Like an awful microscope and my really old Molymod sets - wth, why do I still own these? They aren't useful, they're far too big to model anything properly - cos by the time you have a decent structure going it'll be like a metre tall! ... yeah...)
