Sets for my crew

Postby Valli » Tue Mar 23, 2010 4:50 pm

Thought you might like to see some of my 'rooms'. Wasn't sure where to put it, but as they are part of my stories, I put them here.
Reception of the House of Frazer (Fashion House) Signs were made by scanning a red background from a FR leaflet and adding text. Frames were from a craft set for making cards.
Image

The right hand wall. Wall art was card making pieces put together on foam core and hung from clear line on a pin.
Image

Lounge setting is on a dresser with a large board under the carpet (taken from our old bedroom). Back and side walls covered in wallpaper. Settees are jewellery boxes.
Image

Dining room is on the same space but to the left. I think this is a Gloria set. I have the hostess trolley too, but wasn't right for this picture.
Image

The same table moved to show the right hand wall with a 'bamboo' screen, actually a table mat.
Image

Berri's Bathroom during the birth story. Wallpaper used for flooring as well as walls.
Image

Part of the nursery. I use this set a lot for so many different dolls and stories.
Image

The operating theatre. This is on my 'stage'. A very large wooden shelf that I section off.
Image

I'll add to this over time as there are quite a lot of sets. Hope you enjoy.

Thanks Zircon and Iwa. Actually I'll show some that are just a corner of a shelf. It's amazing just how little space you need. Just enough for a chair or table and background. I seem to be very into close ups lately.

Here you can see what I mean.

I just love your sets, furniture and props that you use in your stories. Sigh, I wish I could use some of that stuff you have.

Some more sets

Postby Valli » Wed Mar 24, 2010 8:56 am

I used to feel like that about other people's sets and still do sometimes. It's taken years to collect all these things. I combine different scales too if I see something I like. The chair in the following photos is 1/12.

One chair, many uses.

Berri's lounge (this is permanent on a corner shelving unit)

A bread bin turned on it's side and decorated for a room.

The Nursery shelf, but with different furniture and characters. One shelf, many uses. Sounds perfect.

Remember the close up of Akio in his office. Here's the stage

The bedroom is below the nursery.

I doubt anyone noticed at the time, but I turned the bed round when Berri gave birth.

The lounge with different occupants is above the nursery.

The book case is sectioned off for 1/6 and 12th scales. This is one of the 1/6th shelves but with the tinies occupying it.
Image

Next to the shelf is the airing cupboard and on the back of that door is the pink shoe rack holding many dolls. You can see it on the right and next to that is the corner shelf unit and next to that is the stage that Akio's office was on. This shelving unit is by the door so I'm working in a tight space. There are table and props all over the place in front of these areas. One day I'll get sorted... and pigs will fly.
Image

Above this shelf is a 12th scale setting split for a girl and a boy. As you know I have lots of little people to accommodate.
Image

My original stage for Berri's bedroom set out on our old dining table. Don't have the space for this now, sadly.
