Junkyspot.

Anything at Junkyspot is in stock. There is no guarantee that what is on either the Bobobie or Resinsoul website is actually in stock, and you might have to wait quite a while for it to ship.

Emory is super awesome, you'll have your doll in about a week (as opposed to at least a month, what with shipping and all), if anything goes wrong he'll make it right immediately, and he sends nifty little extras.

The main problem with JS is it's from the US...
Very large US packages tend to get stopped for tax on the way in.
In the UK you don't really get stopped for tax on every import - but when you do they make damned sure you pay back all the tax you might have accrued over the past year! It often comes up to more than the worth of the goods themselves in all sorts of strange little charges, like shipping tax, goods tax, VAT etc. I'd rather get clobbered later this year for some item of electronics than a doll - it's always depressing and I'd rather not have that sour taste in my mouth when I'm opening the box

Since JS isn't an option, go for Resinsoul, they include a nice littler carrier with their dolls, and I prefer their bodies to Bobobies...

I second ResinSoul (if JS is not an option)---the dolls' bodies are nicer and Sun is super friendly, answers within 24 hours most of the time and the dolls ship out when estimated.

And you get the carry bag as Izabeth-san mentioned!

I've ordered direct from RS at least 5-6 times now, and always have a good experience!

With Bobobie, I've tried to order directly from them when Emory-san was sold out of the item I needed, but their communication was iffy and seemed rushed, which I can understand since BBB is such a sought-after busy company! They also wouldn't accomodate a special request or give a bulk buying discount, which RS did, so in the end, I went with RS and from then on, always do when JS is out of stock on an item.

I love the RS dolls! Their bodies are so pretty! ^^

One thing to keep in mind---RS doesn't sell BBB dolls, but BBB does sell RS dolls.

PS You're right about big dolls going overseas! I shipped one as a gift (and it literally was!) to a friend in the UK, but of course I insured it for around $300 USD. When they received it, they were charged $80 USD customs fees! I felt bad and sent them part of it, but wow! That is terrible, isn't it?!
Then another doll I sent to France was charged $90 USD customs! I think the customs offices are getting more and more zealous....

Well to judge by the ongoing thread on UK tax charges at DoA, EVERYTHING large coming from EVERYWHERE gets stopped for tax. I don't think you are going to dodge the bullet that way.

If you wanted a list of differences when you order from different companies I can help you!

Bobobie and Resinsoul are sister companies which is why you will see similarities between them. Sometimes people don't make the distinction between them because Bobobie also sells some of Resinsoul's head sculpts.

The most noticeable differences are in the bodies. Comparison between Resinsoul and Bobobie 1/4 girl bodies - the doll on the far right is a Bobobie.

While some people may not like the aesthetics of the Bobobie body, it is said that is is better at holding poses than it's Resinsoul counterpart.

I haven't ordered from Bobobie but I did put in an order directly at Resinsoul. It's a little bit annoying because their shopping cart system doesn't work so you have to email your order to them. On a positive note however, your interaction is more personal and you can make requests like asking for Dark Tan or a certain head on a certain body.

Bobobie sends out their dolls in a silky golden sleeping bag with a blue boxwhile Resinsoul sends out their dolls in a soft doll carrier with a silky brown pillow in it.

A doll dealer might be able to do the custom order for you if you don't want to deal with Bobobie or Resinsoul directly. It wouldn't hurt to ask. =)

~*~

Think Pink is a doll dealer located in Europe. I don't know how good their service is but they do carry Resinsoul as well as a whole host of other dolls.

I hope this helps.

Ordering RS (they don't carry Bobobie) from Think Pink is awesome. They restring the dolls with new string standard before sending them out.

I still would rather order from BBB or RS than from the JS... as far as I can see, Emory has never had any dolls in stock without a faceup. Also, he usually only carries NS, WS and if you're lucky light tan... if I'd get a RS doll, I'd make sure it would be a funky colour :D

BBB has some communication issues, and it does take a while, and the packaging is a bit iffy, but I've never actually had any damage or issues getting my dolls. And if this makes a difference, all the packages I've gotten from BBB has had their customs papers marked as "Gift -$30". Which is technically very wrong. But there you go.

Removing a face up is as easy as Isoproyl Alcohol 91%, a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, and a little elbow grease.

My only BBB is a Denver Doll Emporium exclusive Espree on a Tony body. And yes, it came with the standard gray blah face up. (till kiki did her magic)

If I ever get my Mei... it will either be white or green, and I'll special order through emory if I have to... incidentally he has her in sky blue right now. THEN she'll get turned over to Kiki with the instructions to do whatever she wants, just make her a willow nymph. (yanagi = willow, sen = type of elf) ^___^ Some day...
