There's more than one.

We got one last night. There was another on the porch this afternoon. Trap set, and no trap and release, these are being exterminated.

We have guns but nothing smaller than a .38 so a .22 is on the purchase list when the gun store opens in the morning. And if we have to wait for it (I don't think we will since we've got papers on file with them) we'll get snake-shot for the 9 mil.

I am furious and sad.

Try living with them causing about $2000 in damage to the wiring in your attic, leaving a pile of poo about three feet wide and two inches deep up there, doing $500 damage to the soffit getting in and out...and that was just last year. Last year we were compassionate and trapped and released. Evidently we didn't get all of them after we sealed up the attic again. They aren't up there, but they ARE under my husband's studio now.

Tearing a hole in the screen of the porch and killing my peachick was the last straw.

Darn coons. We don't have too much trouble out here with them, my dog keeps most of them scared off, though from time to time they climb the tree out back and taunt Phoebe. (the tree the owl likes to perch in.) I've seen more opossums than raccoons here. I hope you get them all. Sorry they've caused you so much trouble.

Good luck getting the raccoons! Raccoons are such nasty animals, even if they do look kinda cute. I'd never go near one, I'd fear for my face if I did, or ankles...

So, the hubs decided he'd try connecting the ice maker/water unit on the fridge the previous owners agreed to leave for us. After about 3 hours of fussing and swearing (and two trips to Home Depot) he decides he now knows why professionals get the big bucks. This morning he wakes me up at 6:30 saying he needs my help - there is a large puddle in the garage under the pipes to the fridge! He pulls down the insulation and what to our wondering eyes does appear but a big old wet area - and I do mean old. It's happened before. So now we know why the previous owners didn't have the ice maker hooked up in the first place. It would have been nice if they'd have let us know about the problem!

Fortunately, one of the concessions the sellers made in order for us to pay more than what the house appraised for was a homeowner's warranty. It's already coming in handy .....
