Last night we were running some errands and out of nowhere the husband says "I bet you Dani would like a bigger wardrobe. Maybe you should focus on clothes for a while instead of looking at new sculpts." I think that's the politest way he could have said, "please dear god no more dolls". And he's right. Even when I was ordering resin Ella I knew that I had really crossed into the too-many-to-focus-on zone.

Sounds very familiar. I'm looking at new dolls even though all the ones I have are still nude!! I'm slowly picking up on redoing faceups first right now, after that I'll get sewing :)

Toward the end of last school year they had 3 separate microwave related fires because the young darlings didn't know how to use them. In one instance he actually saw a female student blithely typing on her laptop while smoke poured out her window .... They also have to replace washers and dryers every year because of the same thing (no, your size 14 sneakers can't go in the washer!). He swears that incoming students should have to take classes on the care and use of home appliances.

hahahahahahaha.... don't they learn how to use that stuff at home or does helicopter-mom do it all for them? I handled my own laundry after a certain age. I handled a great many house chores, as soon as I was old enough to stand in a chair and lean over the sink I was doing dishes. :-p

No kidding. I never had an adviser that was actually in my department or knew anything about my program! I checked my book, checked the schedule, picked out my own classes and would walk into the meeting with my adviser with a list of what I was going to take. He would go through the formality of asking a couple questions as to my courses, and then signed off on the sheet.

I tell my students before they head off for college, to keep track of their OWN requirements and credit hours, because the chances of getting a good knowledgeable adviser is slim. My other piece of wisdom... don't let your parents pick your classes. I saw a guy fail out his freshmen year because his mother came back over January break and redid his schedule, and the registrar LET HER?!!! He didn't have the prerequisites and failed out.

Professors get a lot of phone calls from busybody mothers asking about their kids school progress. The teachers aren't even allowed to acknowledge that they attend the university because of the privacy rules. But still. It's college. Helicopter-mom needs to back off.

When I was an undergrad I worked in the University's transportation department. I can't tell you how many calls a day I got from people's mothers who wanted to know what bus their kid should take to get to somewhere. This is a near quote from one mother, "My child didn't know what bus to take so they couldn't come home last night and thank goodness they had friends on campus they could stay with and I can't pick him up since I have to finish putting away their laundry and their father's out of town. I need you to send a car to get them." Yeah. That happened. For real.

WAAA - Ghost Adventures is one of my guilty pleasures LOL (with a name like Greyhaunt you have to figure I'm into ghosts!). Sometimes I think they exaggerate their "evidence" but I always think it's funny when they scare themselves hahahaha. I really enjoy hearing the histories of the locations too :)

I don't know if you've seen it but they actually did an episode of their very first ghost hunt and that seemed pretty legit. It's on youtube and it's called a Documentary. There's one scene where this brick randomly goes flying and they freak out. They ended it early and jumped out a window. lol

I can't remember who mentioned Barbie Life in the Dream House, but thank you! I just got done watching all the episodes they had up, and it was hilarious, and awesome! I love the horse, she hasn't been in many episodes, but she has attitude. :D Can't wait for the new episode to upload today.
