As I finally got Jem season 3 I started watching it from the beginning to try and put everything in context. Like there's character development... Well my Bobby doll is asking where his magical thinggy is so he can have wish fulfillment girly fantasies too. Hopefully I can get a photo story out of it.

I'd say there's some questionable messages in that show but it's a half hour toy commercial so who am I to judge?

Okami those little geckos that are all around Florida are adorable. They're probably one of my favorite parts of my trips there (that and baby rabbits - I almost always end up seeing a brood of baby rabbits)

Guys I have to ask a question and I didn't know where to put it.

So someone recently joined DOA and it turns out they live in the same city I do - and they friended me.
They only have an introduction post and they didn't PM me when they sent the friend invitation.

Is it ok that I am weirded out by this? I guess I should shoot them a pm to find out what they're like but I'd feel awkward. What do you even say?

Sure, being weirded out is fine. This social media phenomenon of "friending" someone you don't even know (other than by a screen name) is just plain weird. It's more like collecting popularity points than actually trying to befriend someone. If it bugs you, just ignore it. If they contact you and want to know why you didn't "friend" them back, just explain that you would like to get to know them first before you make a commitment.

Yeah being weirded out is a pretty decent reaction, but I would double check with them to make sure they're somehow not someone you've met in person before writing them off as creepy.

I have that happen all the time on LinkedIn, which is really annoying on two counts. The first is that this is supposed to be a professional network, not another FacePlace, and I don't want random people going SQUEEEEEEEE! MERCEDES LACKEY IS MAH FRIEND! when I don't know them from Adam. The second is that I accidentally accepted a blind contact and she promptly went trolling through MY contacts looking for jobs and asking me for introductions and I didn't know her from Adam. I told her "no I will NOT" and dropped her. I find this offensive.

I felt like I was being too paranoid or an old "fuddy duddy" by thinking it was weird. It really is nice knowing I'm not the only one who would be a little confused about a friend request from someone I've never even spoken to.

Information in her profile leads me to believe that this is definitely no one I know. I hope that if it's someone from HERE they would let me know. XD
