my daughter has a white dd body, which was painted when she got it she has been slowing restoring her to white she is about 80% clean then she just needs to work on the stains when she gets all the paint off she is considering twin pines but wants to see what is actually stained and what is just the paint that is coming off anyways, so far it appear the bust is a lil dingy but over all clean but is not too concerned over it as she wants to upgrade her bust once completly clean anyways, i don't think i would want to paint a doll due to scratches and nicks in the joints but it's cool it makes me be able to refrain purchases, and keep my dolly wants in a lower price range.

Yes - in fact those plastic heels they sell on Volks USA for $9 a pair are perfect :)

Also, has anyone tried a MDD lg bust on a 50cm Obitsu? K2? I am just curious. I am trying to come up with anything to make that poor little thing more curvy. :)

Not exactly, but one of my 50cm girls has (I think) a standard MDD bust which is bigger than the standard 50cm without being uber boober. The other 50cm girl has the large bust that Parabox sells for them - Makes her bigger than the other one, but again, not unrealistically ginormous. Given as the MDD bust I have does fit my 50cm (snuggly) I'd say that if you got the big pair they would too.

But Cirque is right - K2 can say for sure and I'm certain he's tried LOL.

Okay, thanks! I haven't seen the scale of the Obitsu 50cm larger bust in comparison, but it doesn't look very big in pics. The MDD large bust is fairly big. Personally I would love a peach pai bust (on my dolls... ).

Do 50 and 60cms have the same size feet? I may have asked that before. If I did, please forgive. I am working with a killer headache today. :( The brain is wanting to just shut down.

Oh, and Volks delayed the results of the lottery with no date set for the announcement. ARGH!

That's good. You're getting bombarded by a lot of information from every direction.

I *will* get an Obitsu at some point sooner rather than later...a 50cm of sorts - probably Yamato and I am loving Yumi and wish they would do a regular skintone so other heads would match - I am in love with the newest body but want to put a RISA and MEGU head on it (swap out of course).

It looks like the only difference between the Risa (Type D) and the Yumi (Type E) is the skin tone and the bust shape. Oh, and the Yumi came with her nails done.

Can the Obitsus wear DD shoes?

Yes but some fit better than others. The $9 DD2 pumps (http://www.volksusa.com/dssvdd02.html) fit GREAT and aren't a detriment to posing. I have a set of brown loafers that came with a DD2/Evangelion outfit which were absolutely huge, even on the DD2.

Also, has anyone tried a MDD lg bust on a 50cm Obitsu? K2?

Guilty. Before the 50cm large bust was released I gave that a try. It will fit but you would have to trim the top of the neck off as it's too narrow for the Obitsu neck piece. The MDD lg. bust has a distinctively different shape than the 50cm lg. bust, so it's really a matter of taste. I'd go with the 50cm lg. bust. It's a perfect fit and no fiddling around is necessary. It's retail price is also $18 cheaper ($12 vs. $30).

If I can trick Prudence into dropping her dress I'll see if I can do a comparison between her boobs (obitsu large 50cm boobs) and a default pair. Prudence, however, has a very appropriate name so we'll have to see  I should also toss in that the skintone is slightly different between the MDD boobs and the obitsu body of my other girl - but it's not really very noticeable unless you are uber picky :)

Here are 5 of the 6 available busts for the 50cm. I don't have the Obitsu small bust. (Go figure) They are from small to large, left to right:

Obitsu Medium bust (stock), Yamato Type D (Risa), Obitsu Large bust, Yamato Type E (Yumi), Yamato Type B (Miu)
Image

I lit this photo so as to accentuate the curves of the busts so you can see the different shapes of each. The pictures were scaled using a ruler held just below (most of them) and were leveled (up and down) by centering the axis of the skeleton's arm socket. Yes, some of the "torsos" are longer than others and they are all the same color (Obitsu white skin) except for the Type E. The MDD large bust is about the same size as the Type D, but it has a more "push-up bra" look to it. (I can't find Pinky to get a picture...)

And when you're finished ogling...
Do 50 and 60cms have the same size feet?

The 50cm body's feet are 6cm long while the 60cm body's feet are 6.3cm long. I find that my 50 and 60 girls can share many shoes except the few that are made specifically for the 50cm.

Thank you SOO much, K2! And thanks to your ladies (tell Pinky I know what her MDD bust looks like and she is gorgeous ;) ). So the 50cm Obitsu bust is close to the same size as RISAs? Cool! It looks so much smaller on its own in the website pics.

Are Yamato bits easily swapped? I know that they are out of stock on lots of pieces, but if I got the B type body but don't want the uber-muscled arms & legs can they be replaced with the D-type ones?

I didn't know Yumi had been released already. She is very pretty.

Thanks so much for all of the help and patience! I think I am half-feline at times with the curiosity. Maybe my nine furbabies have rubbed off on me. 8-)

Actually they are rounder and less nipply.

The Yamato dolls are just Obitus 50cms with (some) different vinyl outside. They are 100% interchangeable.

I know that they are out of stock on lots of pieces, but if I got the B type body...

The Yamato VMF stuff is available in "sale periods", not constantly. It's like they order X number of units (doll bodies, outfits, shoes, whatever.) and they are available till they sell out. Then it could be months before the item is available again, if ever. Currently the plain, unpainted/blushed Type D (Risa) is on sale for 28000yen. For how long, who knows?

I didn't know Yumi had been released already. She is very pretty.

The Type E (Yumi) hasn't had a wide release yet. It is my understanding that Yamato sold a few of them at Summer Wonderfest 2010. And inevitably a few of those find their way to Yahoo Japan Auctions.

Thanks so much for all of the help and patience!

Thanks for being interested and patient.

Finally got around to it... here's shots of a Gretel with 14mm, 16mm, 18mm and 20mm eyes. I tried to keep the colors more or less in the same family. ^.~

Honestly thought about trying to shove a set of 22mms in there... then realized that the only ones that larger that I have are a set of DiY eyes, which were picked up out of curiosity. Needless to say, the 22mms still haven't been played with. Woot!!!

On the larger eyes, it's recommended to have them be half-rounds. That way the stems won't be bumped by the neck-connector. Some eyes don't like becoming half-rounds... so, maybe getting out a rotary tool, saw or exacto-knife that you aren't fond of will fix the problem?
