OMG - someone has more vinyl dolls than K2!!!!!

I feel so much better about my own collection now. The BJD family is over 60, I have no idea how many Jenny and Momoko and assorted fashion types I have, and then, of course, there are the Pullips, Marmit Elves and J-dolls I have at work...yea...just a few...

Yes, she has become a favorite. :) We are still waiting for a body for the other head as someone was already in line for the body when she arrived. Too many floating heads, never enough bodies. But she is next in line. :D Highlander has dibs cause he said his Kira (Sheba head) needs a sister.

As for the Haruka figure, there are tons on the market. That is an older one (3-4 tears maybe?) and I cannot recall the exact brand because I don't collect a lot of figures. But I know it was Fraulein Revoltech? I think. And it she is about 15cm tall and articulated. I didn't even know about Idolmaster when I got her (now my favorite game...lol), I just thought she was cute.

Hope that helps. Just the right size for a DD for a DD. :D

...that's quite a lot of dolls. :shock: I like it! :D

Actually, I keep thinking about the different kinds of doll collections here. Personally, I like to have a just few with a litle back story and at least a general idea of their personality, but I could never keep several hundreds of them in my head! A dozen or so, maybe, or I'll forget who's who. So I'm wondering how those of you with larger collections do it - is it just me who has a bad memory, or are we just collecting in different ways?

For me, it's because our collection is made up of all anime/game/book characters or real life people/seiyuu portrait dolls. We have only 3 dolls that are not characters or people portraits, and they're all my sister's.

So, when a doll is a 'character' from a book or show or movie you like, you can never forget who they are.

But I do remember when I was a little girl, with our 250 Barbies, we named them all, and gave them all a personality and never forgot who was who. (Heck! We even made our mom memorize their names and then we'd pop quiz her to tell us who was who!)

I think, even now, 25 years later, I can still name most, if not all, of them.

So....I guess the theory on 'character/portrait dolls' doesn't float actually.... ^^;;

Same here, though fashion dolls got less personal names and personalities than those who actually had a character. I stil remember the Barbies who had a different name (given by me) as a kid and that was a long time ago.

All of our 60/50cm (what we now call our vinyl family) dolls have names (most have first.middle.last), many are based on anime/VG characters and all have their own stories and personalities. They also have their own little families within the family. I have 5 nekomimi (I blame K2 :lol: ) who need their family pic since the final (better yet, latest) cousin arrived. She is 1/2 Japanese and 1/2 Indian.

Always fun stuff.

Those who live in or near the dollhouse are far more developed than those who don't. None of the PTE are really developed, a good amount I have for the Little Encyclopedia are just hanging around. Even ones I've made like Nicholas or Roger seem fleeting. And then there's ideas for characters that almost seem stronger than dolls who are here.

My Monsters seem almost horrified by the cartoon portrayals but then again they just stand there as a salute to consumerism.

Who can say where dolls come from or why?
