I know I am addicted to Hujoos when I have a mini fit when I find out they released more dolls and their site is down.

Details make all the difference in how the finished garment looks (and stands out next to other, less detailed versions), but they also take an insane amount of working time and up the price quite a bit. And while no artist can afford selling their time underpriced, I can also understand why people don't want to pay that much for such a small thing / a mere hour of music / two or three dance tune recordings ... and there's the "famous designer" thing too, obviously. People like her can afford asking that kind of wages.

Exactly so. Just because it is a small dress, that does not make it easier to make. In fact, it makes it harder.

Why don't you go look at the Dollheart catalog? Everyone who has ever gotten Dollheart outfits says they are beautifully constructed and gorgeous pieces, and from everything I have seen they look exactly like what you said you wanted.

i have to admit i was shocked. i figured it would be 3 figures, but i wasn't sure what the numbers would look like. i had never sent a letter out like that before. i guess i really know absolutely nothing about fashion or designers or the like. i just knew the dresses on the show were stunning. i also figured it was a bjd, the amount of material and such to make a lolita dress wasn't like making clothes for a child or adult. i realize what i pay for is time. it has definitely been eye opening experience. i have also been very fortunate that i have worked with some amazing dressmakers who have made absolutely gorgeous outfits for my girls. roguewolf has made some amazing fairy outfits for my two girls who will be coming home soon. there's a gentleman named john on face book who has made me several different kind of outfits for different dolls that are just so lovely. recently i worked with a new young woman who has created a lovely lolita dress for loralei. and my friend amber has made kimi all kinds of cute clothes.

This made me laugh out loud. The dog is still staring at me.

That's about how my dolls bios are...Joan and Rose are sisters. And they like to fight over boys. Period.
Just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD.

Something else to consider: she may be getting LOADS of requests for custom made dresses.. And time is money.

I will be disappearing for a while. We're getting rid of our home phone/dial-up on Monday. I'll be able to check in about once a week maybe, when we're out with the laptop, for the next month or so (hopefully only that long).
I can't count this as a suck, though, because we should be getting fast internet after the downtime... and maybe now I will get some dollieh stuff done instead of spending all day looking at all sorts of awesome neat dollieh stuff XD

Also, I just can't seem to get started on a (non-doll) project I'm doing for Christmas. I know that once I get going it'll be easy (and fun), but I just can't get "over the hump", ya know?

One of my guildmates from Wartune expressed an interest in my dolls after I mentioned "painting some faces" as a reason for needing to get off the game... I shared some links with her of pictures of some the dolls I've faced-up/modded and she thought it was really interesting ^__^

Yay for cross-hobby contamination!
I have so many dolls that I can't fit all their names in my signature anymore. @__@

Two days of helping out at a friend's booth later. I've lost track of time and am confused as can be. My head hurts. And then stuff like this happens  Thankfully there's enough number of folks helping out, Falling dolls happened but damage was minimal
