So it's been a long hard time in the Real World right now, but I actually see the light at the end of the tunnel. (How many cliches can I put in one sentence!!) So, most of you know I was on the brink of divorce, bankruptcy, and homelessness. Well...things have changed.
My hubby and I are working it out. Long talks and therapy through a local church, neither of us are religous, but we just ignore the stuff we don't like and keep with the therapy tools he's giving us.
Next, I may have a bit of a job. A co-worker friend of my hubby's has two little boys that are Special Ed. I'm a special education teacher, but to high schoolers. The boys really need some help, so three days a week I play tutor/nanny to the boys for about a hundred dollars a week. It's not much, but it's something.
Then I found out that we don't have to file for bankruptcy. I found some help with a Consumer Credit group that is helping us budget what can be paid and what needs to be negotiated. Our hospital bills were killing us, we talked them into paying only a few dollars a month for awhile. Hospital wasn't happy, but when we threatened legal reprisal they relented.
Finally, because Allan (Hubby) and I are working things out I'm not going to have to move. However, both of us have come to the conclusion that we HAVE to leave the south and get away from his parents. Right now we live with his family. I'm looking into teaching in the Northwestern states. I'm thinking North Dakota, Wisconisn, Idaho, and, maybe, Wyoming. I'm pretty open about it. I just want some place northern and rural.
So that's my life in a nut shell. It's still intense and things are tentative, but it's getting better. I want to say thank you for everyones awesome well wishes and hugs. I really love this community and I'm thankful for all of you!!!
