I know yours is a higher one than that, but academic discrimination hits many levels.

My new boss isn't a JD (normally required to hold a high position in a law school) and he constantly pimps his PhD so he can sound more impressive ;p

Wow, that's lame. Pimpy Pimperson needs to cool it. Dude sounds way insecure.

It's not entirely his fault for pimping the PhD, people with JDs are sometimes very snooty about it themselves. It's the ones who think I'm not worth shit because I have no bachelors that piss me off.

That's why I'm getting my associates right now. I'm so tired of 'no higher schooling' when I've spent more time furthering my education than most of the twits walking around with degrees, but it doesn't count unless you have that piece of paper.

In other news, I can't stop watching this video! I love Mr. Rogers and my son is starting to enjoy it too. I wish I could buy this somewhere.

I LOVE Mr. Rogers. My kids weren't that into him, I discovered him kind of late, but I loved his show and used to turn it on even when they weren't home. I love jazz, and the jazz piano that is the background music for the show is fabulous. I just loved the whole "calm" thing about it, after all the crazy loud screaming other kids' shows. So reassuring and gentle. It's kind of what I was going for with my new book- quiet and calm, not loud and crazy.

I can't even get a crappy job with my degree. I don't have enough recent work experience!

That awkward moment in the computer lab where you rub your nose and then it decided to start bleeding all over your face. xD Good thing I'm used to containing bloody noses.

And that is always the sucky flip side of the coin. Bunches of people with degrees and nowhere to go because we have no "work experience" What was the point of the degree then!? >< Or the people don't want to hire college grads because having the degree requires they pay them more. <_< Especially sucks for people who have been laid off. A lot of the people from my dad's work had a hard time getting new jobs because they were "overqualified" :x

It took me a while to find a job, and it's still technically "temporary" (even though I work a full-time schedule, I'm considered a part-time employee). But it did honestly take me a year and some change to find it because I was "over" qualified.

Speaking of which - you know, every morning I get up, go to put on my makeup and brush out my hair, and by the time I come back my little orange cat has nested in my duvet, sound asleep, all cute and cozy. With all the snow on the ground this week he's making me very jealous.
