In the MADh Vinyl universe, the characters of Jazz, Ice, and Rhiani are non-magical human species from a close off shoot of homo sapiens on the evolutionary tree. They are identical to average humans in every way except for their size, which is approximately one third of the average person today. This small size has led normal size humans to regard them much as they do many of the other smaller creatures like elves and fairies. Their treatment throughout history has led to a severe decline in their population and they are frequently ignored the same as other “mythical” creatures. However, they are completely non-magical in nature, only small in stature.

Instead of halflings, they are thirdlings ^_^

The WILDCATS In Concert!

Postby Swan » Wed Dec 19, 2012 8:56 am

For those of you who think that the adventures of Anna Marie and Miyuki and the others in their school are ONLY available in silent still pictures with captions...

We PRESENT.... The WILDCATS in Concert with a classical piece by Rossini!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEWqpc1EZjc

Now, granted, I looked and looked and cannot see either miyuki, Anna Marie or Hyacinth... I'm fairly sure they're in there. Sadly just as the school orchestra was about to begin, the videographer ran out of room... but the choir came through beautifully!

ENJOY folks!

Oh and there are MANY versions of it. It's Rossini's Duet for Two Cats. Each version is funnier than the last! I spent all afternoon listening to them

Ah, to go on location would be nice! If I could do that (time and money) there would be a lot more exotic locations!

For a lot of the "local" settings (like the library where Hyacinth is seen studying) I'll go and shoot without the girls. Some of the guest star locales have been shot by the guest star's handler at their location. The exotic locations (the Caribbean, Honk Kong, Tokyo, etc.) are background images. At present I don't have proper chroma key set up with a green screen. I essentially use the same process with the "white room" as the background and cut the images manually. About a year ago I supplemented my four desk lamps by adding 8, 75w pars and a 4kw control board, which has reduced the amount of image processing a bit. This included building and installing a rudimentary "grid" above the shooting table to hang fixtures from. I have been looking at a proper green screen, which will also require more lighting equipment to properly light it. This would probably reduce post production time by about a third on location episodes. But I have the same problem may other owners have when they are saving for that new camera or what have you. I start to get close and then see another doll I can't live without. The doll usually wins.

My dolls take offense at your implication that they are "handled". They prefer to refer to me as "my peon" or "my minion" or "that lady who buys me all the shit I insist on".

Wait wait wait! Uh... let me get this straight....

If a 'handler'... "handles" dolls....

What does... a 'peon' do?

Oh dear.....

Ah, the dolls always win (unless there's a new gun I want. Taurus trumps dolls usually.) This is really fascinating. At first I'd just assumed you used stock photos but then they're always so specific I figured I'd better not make assumptions. Thanks for the info. That's a lot of work to cut out all of that white background every time. I can see how a green screen would reduce your work load/production time by a LOT.

Tell your dolls to relax. It's not that they are handled, it's that you handle things for them. Things that they are just too busy to do. It's just a softer way of saying gofer, minion, peon, etc.

Thank you for that clarification. They interpreted it as the same as being "wrangled".
