I can't be the only person who thinks that 8$ and up for a single pair of playscale doll shoes is OMGWTF, can I? O.o

That does seem a bit ridiculous.
I have so many dolls that I can't fit all their names in my signature anymore. @__@

I think it depends on the shoes. If it's mass market shoes, then that does seem high. On the other hand, it's pretty cheap for bjd shoes which are actually all hand made just like people shoes.

I only pay that if they lace up and are stitched and stuff like people shoes. I've paid it for Chucks and some of the really nice army boots. Or for really detailed nicely made thigh high kind.

Too much for molded plastic.

Definitely too much for molded plastic-but I have gladly paid $20 for handmade leather boots from Newline Miniatures. They make 1/6 military accessories.

The most I'd willingly pay was 3 bucks and that was for loafers that turned out to come with two pairs a set...

I have paid more for the occasional well-made pair I really want, but not for molded plastic, no.

not for molded plastic. I spent $20 odd for a pair of pleather boots in the name of long term Doll cosplay. Fortunately the boots serve my doll well. Otherwise I seek cheaper alternatives

I do think that is also reasonable for hand cast resin.

**nods** I find it reasonable (and often a bargain! LOL) for a pair of superdetailed shoes/boots with laces, etc. ( I hadn't heard about hand cast resin shoes--I'll have to look into that), but I'm finding that pairs of playline shoes for certain dolls are running upwards of 8-10$ and found that..excessive LOL. That's almost half the price of an actual playline *doll*. Another example of scalping I suppose? Frustrating. :/
