Aww, wow! THANK YOU SO MUCH, everyone!!!! :)

I'm so glad you like them!! I think they came out really nicely, too!! I was full of trepidation when we planned them, because their outfits are SOOO crazy! (Ikki and Rika, of course, had to be two of the most difficult on the series!!! Ack!)

It's kind of an obscure anime----just released a couple of months ago and finished last month or so---but the game is the most important 'version' of it. The artwork is better in the game and the storylines are more in depth. (The anime is just 12 episodes long, so they had to squeeze and compress a lot of parts.)
But I enjoyed the anime, even though other non-Japanese fans detested it. ^^;; (I think because they all wanted the heroine to end up with a different character than who -coughTOMAcough- the anime hinted at most.) Additionally, Toma is the fan favorite in Japan. I like Toma with the heroine myself (it's the most 'right' storyline) but my favorite couple is Ikki and Rika (side charas).

Anyway, here are some photos of us in costume:

Definitely not related! :o It was my first thought, too, after seeing the title, and not being familiar with the anime/game SetsunaKou is referencing. But, no, Amnesia: Dark Descent is not this at all; it's a horror game which tries to scare the bejeebus out of players. A friend of mine made me play it on Halloween night last year, and it actually managed to make me feel really nervous and uneasy.

But, yeah, completely different. :)

Very nice costumes.

I get the impression her 'home' reality is either the one she first wakes up to in episodes 1 and 2 as that's the first time she's shown going over a cliff (though i don't recall her having a boyfriend in that reality) or in the second reality where she again fell off the cliff running from boyfriend Shin. As Ukyo is present in both and Neil did say that Ukyo's suffering at watching her die yet again started her reality hopping there. I'd lean more toward the first one where she doesn't have a boyfriend as she does have memories from that one in the second reality and the scene they show of Ukyo breaking down in the last episode fits seamlessly into his scene from the first reality. However in the very last episode after the credits it implies she gets to choose which reality she wants to return to. However, I don't see anything that hints on which one she ends up choosing, other then the moon within a moon card was in the center (which would have to be Ukyo or nobody depending, as the other 4 are obviously color coded to their respective guys).

From my observations of human behavior the most recent boyfriend is the one she'd end up with, which would probably end up as the Stockholm Syndrome relationship with Toma, as they very clearly said the Ukyo relationship was impossible. Ukyo would've been my first choice if it hadn't been explicitly disallowed. She was willing to stay and die in the fire with him after all.

Thanks!! Glad you like them!

As for the heroine's true love---if you noticed, she was truly happy with Toma, and even Ukyo knew that---which is why he was so angry about her being with Toma. Additionally, when she was being carried up to the roof by Ukyo, her subconscious mind longed for the arms to be those of Toma---whom she was comfortable and at ease with always.

Ukyo is the catalyst of her world jumping, but as you said, the whole premise is that she CANNOT be with him---it's against fate and destiny---so that's impossible. Either she or he dies whenever they try to go together, which drove him to insanity and then caused him to try to kill her so that he wouldn't be the one to die. (His split crazy personality! :laughs: )
Also, in the game, Ukyo mentioned that she has many many worlds with Shin, a bunch with Ikki, a bunch with Kent, several with Wakka, none with himself, and ONLY ONE with Toma.

So, if you also take that to imply that the 'only one' route is the ONE TRUE world, again, it's Toma.
Additionally, he just wanted to protect her at all costs and in the game, she even crawled back into the cage after she escaped it, because when she went outside, Ukyo tried to kill her, Ikki's fangirls were after her, etc. She felt safer in the cage. ^^

The anime left out a lot of the details but still gave across the main idea.
Also, if you consider that since there are many worlds---all with the heroine in love with one of the 5 guys (Ukyo doesn't count, since they're not meant to be)---ALL the 5 guys can be counted as 'canon' for their particular 'heroine.'

It's just this world hopping heroine----which one is she?

From the game evidence and even the anime, it would appear to be Toma. He was the only one she really felt comfortable with and even, loved.
She flat out told Kent that 'the me of your world must care for you very much.' which directly says 'It's not me.' So he's out.
She's frightened of Shin in the anime---always cringing whenever he tried to kiss her. She was NOT happy with him, nor at ease. Ikki grew on her, but again, she wasn't 'sure' and she wasn't happy, plus he goes with Rika in all the worlds where he's not with the heroine. So that pretty much rules him out. Ukyo is automatically out by virtue of the whole game/anime's premise.

That leaves Toma, who is utterly dedicated to her, AND she seemed to reciprocate, wanting to find out if she loves him (having amnesia), being happy in the world with him (causing Ukyo to become even more angered) and actually calling out Toma's name, while snuggling against a chest (Unfortunately for her, it was Ukyo, who became very angry at her endearment, making him toss her off the roof with a vengeance! :laughs: ).

But again, the anime specifies a particular 'heroine' trying to find her place (it appears it should be Toma), but in the game, all the worlds are equally true---so pairing her with any of the guys is 'canon.' My sister loves Toma best, so we're happy that it really seems best and most accurate with him anyway. But any of them would be okay. (However, not really Ikki, because of Rika! It seems farfetched to just leave her behind, wishing 'congratulations' to the heroine for stealing her Ikki. Ha ha ha.)

So, after watching it, did you enjoy the anime? I thought it was pretty good---maybe a bit too 'fast paced' and skipping important elements, but mostly all good!!!

And probably on the dvd release, they'll put out 'multi-endings' where you'll see her with each guy. ^^

Anyway, this is the 'fan favorite' voting page :

If you scroll all the way to the bottom, you'll see a link to a specially drawn Toma illustration for his winning. ^^

Thanks for the comment!!!!

Yup, I definitely enjoyed the anime. I'm sure my view on it is slightly different having not played the game at all (for example the many worlds with X and Y, but only one Z, you mention above). But hadn't thought to look at each relationship in that way, I had looked at each relationship by the positives, aka reasons she'd stay, rather then reasons this one isn't the right one, though the keeping in a cage kinda ranks high in the 'not right one' list for me.

I think in the anime Shin actually got the rather short end of the stick being the first of the alternates she visits where she has a boyfriend so she's not expecting it at all, Shin is a bit more... direct? forceful? then the others, and he also had the 'misinterpreted' conversation fragment about his father accidentally killing someone in a fight all working against his favor on his cycle. I think her unhappiness with him would be more obvious as a non-working relationship if his world had been later in the cycle, rather then as a reaction to her world jumping and 'vision'.

I still feel her home world is the one she didn't have anyone, just from how some of the key starting and ending scenes play out. It would've been much better if they had a second season to work with though, it did feel a bit rushed.

I have a feeling I'll be trying to construct a Kent cosplay for my next convention. He fits my way of thinking best (though taken to more of an extreme then I'm at) and I like his outfit. (I love it when those things line up)

These costumes look great. I'm impressed with the amount of detail on each of them.

Here are some shots of us (and our Ikki and Toma dolls) from Halloween. We went to a Japanese steakhouse for dinner----OISHII!!!! The chef asked us what we were holding and when we said 'bjd dolls', he gave us a funny stare, but then thought we were quite funny in our costumes and holding 'dolls' in our laps.
