I managed to make it all the way to Minnesota without a car crash. There was a huge freak snow storm right out side of Hudson WI less than an hour from my parents house and we saw 15 accidents in less then 10 miles of road. But we survived! And I even got to see Zirconmermaid yesterday for a while in the afternoon. :D
A hobby isn't supposed to leave you wistful, regretful and vaguely disappointed. BJD collecting is as customizable as the dolls themselves. Do whatever pleases you the most, because otherwise, why do it at all? All for the 'Gram Bitches love the 'Gram.

HNNNNNGGGGG

I just got Aurym back from Kiki. I have no idea how she does it, but she always manages to turn my scribbled descriptions into exactly what I imagined he'd be.

OutBriefCandle wrote:And then we got home and THEN I got to watch The Tempest. FINALLY! I am very very pleased. It's just what I wanted it to be, Helen Mirren absolutely knocks it out of the park as Prospera, Ariel was the Ariel I've wanted in my head when I read the play (his physicality as the Harpy was just amazing and that guy is freaking bendy), I loved watching all my favorite scenes, and the island was absolutely gorgeous. Really beautiful. I was worried that after waiting to see it for so long I'd be disappointed, and I wasn't.

I put that one on my Netflix list months ago. The trailer just looked so good and I'm a bit of a Helen Mirren fan. You have me tempted to move it up my list. I just wish I had been as happy with the Magic Flute. I've been looking for the version I saw in high school. I finally identified it and got the disk but it was so scratched up it wouldn't play. :( I've let them know and hope the replacement copy is better.

Watching A Muppet Christmas Carol for the first time in aaaages! Apparently it wasn't actually to be found anywhere, my parents had to find it online and order it and even that wasn't easy. o_O You'd think with the new Muppet Movie releasing so close to the holidays they'd make sure it was everywhere.

My brothers liked the presents I got them, especially the older one who's thrilled with the $10 gift card to the Playstation Network, which was exactly enough to buy the original Metal Gear game over the network to finish off the set. The other is just estatic over his big present, which is a PSP and Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep. So I've got the pleasure of watching my seventeen year old brother freaking out over how awesome his (completely Disney Princess filled) game is while I give him tips on finding pieces for Cinderella's dress. I accept that I am probably a difficult person to find gifts for it isn't doll related. My husband does his level best though the two mufflers did make me silently go "huh?". I appreciate that he actually thought about buying the Grail doll I was squeeing over just 3 days before Christmas, but knew I'd rather he not spend $1000 on a doll that I'm not willing to pay that much for . . . :|

Then he goes and gives me a check for dollieh money. And I look at it and realize I can almost afford my MNF A-line body now. So . . . I think I'll keep him another year.

My last Christmas present is here! Cardcaptor Sakura on DVD! Heeee! My parents ordered it on the 16th they said but it took a long time to arrive, just finally turned up in the mail today and it was waiting for me when I came home. I'm excited, I love this series and I have all the manga but I haven't seen the anime in years. It was one of the first I saw through the college anime club.

Plus, with the unusually warm start to winter we've had sweaters aren't selling very well at work, so there's a lot of all sizes that just got put on clearance. So marked down to half off, then half off on top of that, and I had a 20% off coupon, and a gift card from my aunt and uncle. So I just got five sweaters for $17. :D

And with my Christmas money, I should be getting new glasses soon! :D For the first time in a few years, and it's been even longer since I've gotten new frames, so I'm looking forward to this.

A little bit of rejoicing from me here... my younger sister just came over to have lunch here on her break from work, and even though I know she dislikes my doll hobby I'd put Ellie on the sofa where she always sits; I thought it would be silly to move her to my study just because my sister came to visit. But I think I've been paranoid, because when I was in the kitchen to get us some tea, my sister called out to me saying she loved the doll sitting on the sofa. LOL! I don't get it. It's always been my other sister (they're twins) who downright hates my doll hobby, but I thought this sister at least frowned upon it as well. Oh well :P. She thought Ellie was really pretty! So yay!

I know my mom thinks she's pretty too, but I still won't tell them how much these dolls cost me... they'd flip.
