That record shaped bag has been used before actually on another doll, Barbie or something similar. I have that somewhere but right now for the life of me I can't recall who it came with. I have the keyboard purse too, two of them because I bought two of that Fashionista for her light body. Oh which reminds me just a heads up the Fashionista "Raquelle" (NOT she's KAYLA!!!) has dye lot issues. Don't just grab those thinking they will fit most pale Barbies and you will be able to use them to articulate most pale skinned older FF Barbies. They won't necessarily. First one I bought was a perfect match for my favorite one, second one was a bit pink like a Liv Katie doll. It ultimately worked for my Stardoll blond who was also a little pink and who's body was a little off anyhow, but it didn't work for the pale FF Barbie that I actually bought it for and FYI, it should have been a perfect match as a twin of her is also on the same Fashionista body, the first "Raquelle" one I bought. I went back to Target and looked at the 3 that were left? There were indeed very slight color variances. Oh and quick question, is the CAM witch a bit big headed or is just me? Even with the wig off she seems bigger headed than any of my other girls. Kinda of odd that. Is that common with MH dolls, that some heads are larger than others? I only have 5 so I'm not too sure and I am wondering.

The Monster heads can be different, some CAMs take wigs better than others.

Could the purse come from Barbie and the Rockers or Grease collector dolls? With any toy maker it would make sense to keep and reuse molds instead of making new ones, look at Breyer, Lego encourages their designers to use as many as possible when coming up with new sets. I even have some old toys, some resin some cheaper plastic, made from the exact same molds.

Nah, she was a new doll. Bought in the past year or so. I just can't remember who it was. It might not even be Mattel. I bought some Liv dolls as well as MT dolls and other stuff. But it looks just like the Operetta one for what it's worth if I am recalling correctly.

It wasn't the Liv Brites Katie doll, was it? She has a record purse too. I noticed it at Target the other day...

No, I don't have one of those as yet, those Brites. This one was black vinyl with red center. Major Operetta colors, very retro like a real record. I'm thinking it might have been a Liv. Thought it was Fallen Angel Stardoll for a sec there but I just looked her up and no, she had a heart shaped black purse. Darn, I hate when I do that, forget which doll owns what. I hardly ever do that. I'm like Miss Photographic Memory when it comes to my dolls and their gear but I honestly cannot remember now!!! Give me a bit. It will come back to me. It was pretty recent. All I have to do is go and look on the shelves and mentally review what dolls I've bought in the past year and what they wore in the box and I'll figure it out. For some reason I've got the Liv red color doll in my head but I don't think that's it either. Maybe a Daniela? Hold on while I hunt that freakin thing down....

AH, that's it. It's a Liv doll. Dancing Daniela!!!!!

Take box opening pictures and make yourself a catalog or don't give a rat's ass. Even with my website the dolls and I decided some things are better left to anal people or looking up on the internet if it's that important.

But it's interesting if a Liv and a Monster have the same accessories.

I don't get as anal about it with the Barbies, but my big girls I like to keep up with all their stuff. Some of that stuff is worth a fair bit and prices go up and down. It pays sometimes to keep track of it. Knowing just when to sell off some stuff can be a good thing. Also if you know the really good stuff well you can spot it better in what often looks like junk lots. I just got a $100 doll outfit because the person who auctioned it off had no idea of what it was and just threw it together with some loose dolls and stuff. Also being a font of knowledge can be lucrative. I act as a doll consultant to a few resellers in my area. I get paid for my time and expertise in doll stuff. The reason I have hundreds of Barbie dolls is because knowing all that stuff got me a much larger collection than I would have if I had to buy them all.

Oh and speaking of? I found the head for one of these in a lot of junk Barbies last year. Redhead, ruby I think. Even a head for a vintage Color Magic Barbie can go for $150 if the face paint is in great shape, and mine was. My only regret is that I have yet to find a decent vintage body to put her on that I can afford as yet. (She's on a FQ repro body, for now.) On her correct body she's a $400 Barbie doll.

I usually don't need a database though. I worked retail for years. All that stuff it usually just sticks in the memory. I used to do the same thing with SKU #'s and items in my stores. It's scary how that stuff stays with you sometimes, but with me it does. It's unusual that I draw a blank on doll stuff like this.

I understand. Taking pictures and making a catalog might be a good idea any way. Even in looking for Bram's phone this morning I found a couple of things that could easily fall victim to not knowing what they are.

That could be a great use of a web site, hosting reference pictures of doll stuff and having a searchable data base. I've had my own times trying to get the right shoes with the right thing.
